As we exited the tunnel on road 7 there is a large parking area where we left the car. You can see the waterfall immediately and can choose to walk up to the monument or go down to the base of the falls. We walked up to the monument which was a steady incline. The monument is dedicated to the people who lost lost their lives defending the area in WWII and is very poignant. The view offered across the valley is spectacular and worth the walk.

Originally it was not part of our itinerary from Bergen to Flam and back. Since our stop at Stegastein got cacelelled due to landslide, we were brought here for a short time. First we saw a smaller waterfall nearby then we came here. There was two options to see it. Either go down almost close to waterfall and enjoy it or walk little further and see from top. The view of waterfll and surrounding mountains was breathtaking. One could feel the fresh air itouching all over the body. Though we saw it from top due to mobility issue, but it was worth going down.
Worth seeing...

This is an amazing natural wonder that makes you just stand back and say wow. Well worth stopping whilst on your way to Bergen, or the interior. With ample parking the short stroll down to the fall itself is breathtaking. The the overwhelming power at the bottom is real reason you should check this place out.

Sensational waterfall that you can experience up close from the top and bottom. A short walk takes you to the top and bottom of the waterfall. In the first picture you can see the waterfall at low tide, in the second shortly after the rain.
