Udai Sagar is located very near to the national highway NH76 near Debari while traveling from Dabok airport to Udaipur city. But this is an excellent location to spend as many hours as would like for the simple traveler. Devoid of gorgeous, chic surroundings and locked in between the Aravali mountain ranges near Udaipur, this water body becomes a treat to watch during monsoon time as rainwater splashes against the banks of the lake. An introvert's Fatehsagar, I would say, in brief. Many kinds of fresh water fish can be seen around this time.

Udai Sagar lake is situated around half an hour distance from the city. It is not yet fully developed, si those who have visited Fateh Sagar and Pichola lakes, may not like it in its present form. It will take some years developing at par with its peers.

We took an Ola cab to Udai Sagar late in the afternoon to catch the sunset. The lake itself is quiet with several boats on the water motoring around the lake. The lake has a number of food stalls serving Indian food and a jetty where the Boat trips can be undertaken. There were also a number of camels in the area that are available for riding. We did not take a cruise but we did eventually find a food place that had a fan that make sitting down for a meal more comfortable than some other premises in the hot late afternoon heat.

Sunset was a let down, no glorious colours, so we walked along the edge of the lake to the far end and walked across the wall. There being Not much else to do here we then returned to Udaipur.

A bit away from hustle bustle of the city. We though it'll be a good picnic spot with water sports, but you'll find nothing but a dirty lake with no one around.

This is one of the five large lakes of Udaipur and located out of town. Not really a must do for visitors. Just another lake.

It actually contains all the dump from the udaipur city and is hugely neglected by the authority. It could have been a wonderful visit if it was maintained.

Terrible place to visit, no maintenance by authorities, contains rain water with all kinds of city drainage including sewage and chemical waste from industries. Although a historical place, but not advised.

This is one of the largest lake of Udaipur. You reach this place after entering near Zinc Smelter. Good for group of friends, not recommended for couples as although it is peaceful and no one's around to disturb your privacy - still there are changes of few dramatic college drunk groups destroying all your peaceful atmosphere.

Note: Watch out for Traffic at Zinc Smelter when you take a turn. People drive like Fast & Furious there.
