Nestled in the Vindhyanchal mountains, Panna Tiger Reserve has an amazing habitat of dense, dry and grassland forest. Ken river which flows through the forest add to it's beauty.
We were able to see the tigers, leopards and many other habitants of this amazing jungle with amazing landscape. We also did a night safari which was again an added experience for us on this trip.
Our bookings were done by TravelGleam Wild (9958993316 , 9899954675) and it was absolutely hassle free dealing with them. All our transportation, hotel bookings and the safari bookings were done without any difficulties and the entire procedure was smooth and easy.
Thanks team for all your support.

This National Park is worth going for Nature Lovers, but not for the persons, who are only mad to see the tigers, as in all likelihood, YOU MAY NOT SEE A TIGER, most elusive animal. Otherwise, this well-preserved Jungle is a feast to your senses. The crocodiles on the river Karnavati/ Ken are a delight to see.

We did two safaris in Panna National Park from Madla gate which is closer to Khajuraho (25km, 30min) than the Hinouta gate. Both gates lead to a common core zone so you can chose the gate closer to you. Our safaris were organized by R P Omre of Panna Tiger Safaris ((rpomrepanna@gmail.com; 8770160974). You can also book the safaris online directly and arrive at the gate to pick up the guide and the vehicle at a lower cost. We were provided a good guide in our afternoon safari who networked with other guides on phone to provide us two sightings: one of tigress T151 with her two cubs at close range and another of two male siblings about twenty months old at quite a distance(300m). However, next morning safari we drew a blank with no sightings. Panna is a newer and smaller park but the guides coordinate well to provide tiger sightings. Yet it is a matter of luck after all.

It is an amazing Forest with extreme versatility. Panna NP having different types of terrains. As example Plain Land, Grassland, Wetland, Hilly Terrain and River. Presently here tiger count is 70. Apart from tiger one can spot Leopard, Jungle Cat also. Herbivorous are abundant. In spite of these attributes I rated it as 4 star. Reason behind it is sighting percentage of Tigers. In maximum occasions one may find Tiger in Grasslands or walking in woods or far away from him. Therefore I would like to say those who are Pro and doing Jungle Safari for long may find this place worthy and for those who have just started may get a bit demoralized.
But after all this is all about Jungle and wildlife, will and wish of Animals are last word.

Although lesser known and smaller than that of Bandhavgarh or Kanha, Panna has it's own USP. Landscape is quite nice. We were able to see quite a variety of fauna (nilgai, sambhar, hawk, etc.), not to mention T-151 along with 2 of her cubs. Definitely worth visiting for at least a couple of safaris. You can also do night safari here in buffer zones. Booking safaris through the govt site was a breeze - I have to say this is one of the most systematic user friendly safari booking site across the Tiger reserves in India. Great stuff MP forest department ..

Visited the Panna wildlife park today and just at the end we saw a tiger and got lucky.
Good things: MP government initiative to breed the tiger and protect it is really a great thing and thanks to that we cited the big beautiful cat
Cons: The vehicles move wit great speed and noise that the beast itself goes and hides. Since its private the first dont allow the others to see. Maybe the government should run this so all get a chance

Panna has a beautiful terrain. The forest is entralling, mostly teak, it has mahua, gunji, gun metal tree, tendu and others barring sal.
The Safari takes you through the three different plateaus, the view points of each are gorgeous.
On one such we saw nesting of tte white backed vultures, which is very fortunate due to their dwindling population.
Other animals seen include, the chital, sambars, nilgai, wild boars and plentiful birds and reptiles.
We saw a tiger only in one Safari, out of the 4 we did.
In Panna one can also do a night Safari, tho we didn't see a panther or bear, we saw both types of civet cats. Small indian civet and the palm civet.
It can be frustrating to see the jungle and not meet the tiger, but this is a matter of chance.
The guides are well trained, knowledgeable and well mannered. The fact that the forest provides livelihoods to the villages around is a sureshot way for forests to

Did not expect a lot from Panna but I was pleasantly surprised.Panna is one of the few tiger reserves that allows night Safari, which is a whole different experience. Core jungles are breathtaking, out of the two buffer gates, skip akola.

Excellent park for tiger sight. We stayed at khajuraho and visited this park from madla gate. To our delight we were able to spot two tigers. There is river inside the reserve where you can go for boating and you can see some crocodile.
There are trained elephants whom you can feed banana or sugarcane yourselves

We are planning to visit Kajuraho late August. Would that be a good time to visit the park? I have a 12 yr old son so it would be very interesting for him. How would the weather be between August 24 and Sept 1st ? Would we be able to see tigers then? thankyou.

it's a tiger reserve, all vehicles are same - modified gypsy. guides are all good as they communicate over wireless. there's a separate tracking vehicle looking for tigers. so long and short, any vehicle or guide us good.

We stayed at The Lalit Temple View hotel in Khajuraho. It is 5 Km from airport, walking distance from the temples, half an hour away from the Panna National Park & both the water falls. The hotel arranges all the trips in their safari jeep & cars conveniently. The hotel is excellent and charges ₹10k per day per room.
