Very good displays in great setting.

This interesting museum is in the middle of quaint Mandawa and worth a visit to have some glimpse of the region’s history with displays of dress, turbans, discussion of the various class systems and their dress habits plus formal wear on special occasions. Our group had a very knowledgeable guide who explained the various displays and history of the area. A lovely old building now made into the museum and worth the entry fee and guided tour, perhaps allow at least 90 minutes here.

Artistry at its best

This is the place for which we came to Nawalgarh in first place.
My wife attended a workshop of Shri.Narenderji in Pune for Shekhawati fresco and got to know abt this place from him.
To our surprise we met him again in Poddar haveli, Nawalgarh where he foes restoration work.
His journey from being a billboard painter to a master in Shekhawati fresco art is amazing. His son is now taking this art form forward.

A must visit in Nawalgarh.

Must-see Haveli of Nawalgarh
Feb 2020
We were surprised to find so much to see in this one Haveli, where we spent around 3 hours (yes, we love paintings). Our guide Rahul was interesting and patient (ask for him !), he gave us a lot of information, and as it was our firsts days in Rajasthan it was very welcome. Paintings, religion, hierarchy, crafts.. a bit of everything !
Rahul also adviced us the heritage museum and music instrument museum of Dundload, a nearby village : a nice hidden treasure.

Mixed bag.

The Haveli is indeed very striking from the outside and the entrance fee more reasonable for foreigners than many in India. The frescos inside are also very well restored.
Against that most of the rooms are museum rooms with model castles, model palaces, turbans and the like. These were much less well done and poorly displayed.
The worst aspect, however, was the included guide who was clearly bored stiff with the task and did the absolute minimum in a boring drone of a voice.
We felt our enthusiasm for the place being drained away with every sentence he spoke and in the end were relieved to get out.
Shame.

Visited Podar Museum. Riots of colors with walls speaking volumes of art& culture of Shekhawati region. A must visit place for any art lover. Our guide Mr Rahul himself was so very knowlegable, courteous and supportive. Thanks to him that we could explore the beautiful heritage value of Nawalgarh area and its outstanding open art gallery virtually on every wall. Not to forget the delectable local cuisine, guided by Rahul. An amazing trip. Will surely visit again to further explore the cultural beauty of the region.Ashok Mehrotra

Beautiful Haveli
Dec 2019 • Family
Having visited a lot of havelis throughout Rajasthan , we found this one the best restored n maintained. It is very neat and clean too. The caretaker was a friend of Rajeshji and lent us an understanding of paintings and artifacts on display. It is worth visiting. And not expensive 60 INR for an Indian adult. We clicked a lot of pics. There are various rooms dedicated to jewels ,costumes ,lifestyle, artifacts ,a kitchen set up etc . Good place

Beautifully restored Shekawati haveli
Nov 2019 • Couples
Definitely recommend visiting this museum up get a sense of how the Shekawati painted havelis just have been in their primetime. This is a very nicely restored haveli and is neatly maintained. After visiting this, do roam around to see other nearby havelis that haven't been restored as well.

Another worth seeing haveli
May 2019
One of the havelis worth seeing. The sign of the history of reach people living in reach city. You need to travel outside Jaipur - but havelis are worth it. Just be careful - we heard (and also experienced), people in Navalgarh are not very friendly. I do not recommend go here and there alone. It's better to travel by car asking the driver to stop at each and every haveli you want to visit.

Nawalgarh is a small town in Shekhawati Region. This Haveli (House of Rich people) is well preserved and they have added Meuseum related to Culture of Rajasthan to it. The main attractions are the Frescoes on the walls. They are related to Mythology, history and Culture of Rajasthan. No where else you will see so many Frescoes on the walls except this Region and the best preserved are in a few Havelis. And this Haveli is one of them. There is an entrance Fee to this Haveli.
