Rangin Mahal is a beautiful palace situated inside the Bidar Fort. 2.5 KM from Railway station. Rangin Mahal was constructed during the reign of King Ali Barid Shah of Baridshahi dynasty (1542 - 1580). Ali Barid Shah was a great patron of Persian poetry and art. Rangin Mahal literally means 'Colored Palace' and this name was apparently given to it on account of its walls being originally decorated with tiles of different hues, traces of which still exist.

Rangin Mahal which is part of the Bidar fort is known for carvings on the wooden door, color paintings. It is closed to public and you need to request to see the place

I was lucky enough to get permission to visit this part of the Bidar fort. The designs are esquisite. Wall panels, wood works are worth mentioning. But alas the visitors don't respect the beauty and hence the authorities are forced to seal it.
