Good neat and clean place. However falls a little short once you have seen Buddha Park at Rabongla. Unfair comparison though. The Guru Rinpoche statue is huge (45 mtrs) and can be seen from very far. One can locate Char Dham Lord Shiva statue from this place and vice versa. Right now the place is going through minor constructions. It is also called wish fulfilling hill and believed that it is a sleeping volcano.
Also in the same place you have an entry to the Namchi Ropeway. One can opt for one way (100 rs per head - downhill till rock garden) or roundtrip (150 rs).
Tip: Opt for roundtrip, not to save money though. If you take one way and get down at rock garden you need to climb a lot of stairs (250-300 probably) to get to the entry point of the garden where your vehicle may come and pick you up. So choice is yours.

I went to Pelling and Namchi. I stayed at Hotel Mount Magnelia Boutique Hotel at lower Pelling. Property is good. Food quality and behaviour of restaurant is excellent. But the basic problem is with the management. It took one hour or more for check in. We were five and there was no rush at that time. Hotel is not with lift. Although they promised me transport from Bagdogra, but at the last moment they refused. If you are booking that hotel, make all other arrangements. They charged Rs.10000/- per day per room including taxes and breakfast.
I came to Namchi via Ravangla. I have not enjoyed. Good restaurants are not available near to Buddha Park. Road from Pelling to Ravangla is also bad.
I came to Namchi and stayed at Hotel Sobraila and is a excellent hotel to stay and enjoy. From there, we visited Samdruptse Hill. Management and staffs are very cooperative. In fact with the help of GM of the hotel, we could come to pelling and completed the tour.

This place has a 108ft long statue of Guru Padmasambhava. You can actually climb up and see the statue from very near. It is very peaceful out there. There is a I love Namchi board as well for taking photographs. Great views as well.

Monastery with a massive statue located at the hill. The place gives a picturesque view of the valley. If you love to be with nature, this is a place to sit and relax and also meditate.
Lot of monkeys at the entry point so be careful.
Entry ticket is Rs 50/- per person.

The tallest statue of Guru Padma Sambhava in the world, standing at 135 feet, is located above Namchi town. It is a place where one's wishes can be fulfilled. Positioned below Tendong Hill and facing Namchi, the view from Samdruptse Hill is something to be cherished and enjoyed. The hilltop offers a panoramic view of Namchi town, Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Mt. Kanchenjunga, and the eastern part of Nepal.

Samdruptse near Namchi (13 kms) has worlds highest statue (135 ft) of Buddha (Guru Padmasambhava). Solophok Chardham nearby has how massive statues of Lord Shiva along with a Sikkim version of Chaar Dham. The statues are most imposing and therefore a must visit for any tourists to the area.
Namchi is a hillside hamlet offering panoramic view of the snow capped mountains (Oct - March).
Namchi lies in close proximity to Namchi Monastery and Samdruptse pilgrim centre..
Its a full day tour from gangtok icluding Solophok Chardham whic is worth visiting beautiful replicas of CHAAR DHAM (Hindu pilgrimage sites).

The Samdruptse hill has a historical significance of its own and as per the old record. Princess Pedi Ongmu of the Namgyal Dynasty was executed on this hill. The world's largest statue (at 118 feet) of the Buddhist Padmasambhava, also known as Guru Rinpoche, the patron saint of Sikkim, is on the Samdruptse hill (The Wish Fulfilling well) opposite Namchi. It was completed in February 2004. It is also said that the Samdruptse hill is actually a Dormant Volcano. Myths say that the buddhist monks have been going on top of the hill and offering prayers to the volcano to keep it calm. There is also a Rock Garden just few kilometers up from the town on the way to Samdruptse. The Rock Garden displays a wide variety of Flora and is a local recreation and picnic spot. It offers a magnificent view of Mt. Kanchendzonga (aka Mt. Kanchenjanga, the world's third highest peak).
