Stopped twice and enjoyed different light on the glacier ice, water and glacier in the background. Also took the zodiac tour (vs. the duck boat tour) with an advance reservation. Zodiac was small group and got us right up next to the glacier itself and...More

Where else can you sail around icebergs and then follow the mini icebergs as they make their way to a black sand beach?

We visited Iceland in winter, so the glacier lagoon boat tours weren't operating but we walked as fR as we could toward the glacier terminus. The ice in the lake are eerie, unique and beautiful. It's a long day's drive to reach the lagoon (we...More

The view was great, especially for people who loves the color of blue. While the storm came and road closed, we were stuck in the bus for about 5 hours. And the only store opens didn't provide enough food or space for resting. This is...More

Icebergs. Blue icebergs floating around was just wow. The beautiful icebergs that you can take tons of photos with or just admire their beauty is just amazing. Long drive from the city/towns nearby but definitely worth it.

Nothing like it. Glacial icebergs that are huge and move. You can camp in the parking area overnight in a camper for free - although no toilets, but you can hear the icebergs breaking and moving in the night, eerie but beautiful. Even more so...More

I could now comprehend why this attraction has been the setting for at least four Hollywood movies. The luminous blue icebergs were totally mesmerising and would leave any visitors in awe, view from the elevated plains or simply take a stroll on the beach to...More

Amazing place, the shades of blue of the glaciers are impressive. It is a little far from reykjavik, but it is totally worth it.

This place is very impressive as nature gives you something you won't be able to find anywhere else. Food however, is very limited and expensive and not good. Bring snacks or sandwiches if you can as it is a long drive.

We opted for the boat trip when we did this excursion. It was worth booking to travel between the icebergs and you may see seals whilst you are there. I didn't see where the beaches were in relation to the lagoon so am... More

Sure, do it on your own. Go to the beach on the other side of the road - beautiful white pieces of ice laying on the black beach sand.
