Although this lagoon is a long drive from just about anywhere, it is well worth it! It was one of the highlights of our vacation. The glacier lagoon is much larger than I envisioned with more icebergs floating along than I expected as well. They...More

Not much I can add to all the reviews . Just awesome. Stop at the other turn offs to get different view. Walk farther down the beach to see the glacier ice being washed up on the beach.

This was expensive but excellent. Dress up in full wet suit for zodiac trip of a bit over an hour. Just sit on the sides holding a rope. Could have done with a leg strap. Ice berg tour in boat brilliant with much to see...More

The luminous blue ice and some not so clean was quite impressive so close to the ocean and the bridge tha spans the lagoon and the sea.Well worth a visit and not difiuclt to find or get to as it is right on the highway.

Beautiful and ghostly procession of luminous blue icebergs in the glacial river Lagoon which apparently is the deepest lake in Iceland. Stunning view of the icebergs of the lake.

Even though it was raining heavily when we visited Jökulsárlón it was totally worth getting a little wet. We didnt do any tours just walked around the beach for some minutes. The colours and the weirdly shaped pieces of ice are absolutely incredible!

My answer is nuanced by our very recent cruise to the base of glaciers in Greenland, where we saw calving, and upthrust falls (amazing) from zodiacs. Still, we really enjoyed the lagoon. As an earlier answer said, seeing... More
