Best Place for a Day out

One of the Oldest heritage places in Australia lot to see and learn. Nice cafe/ restaurant Lachlan's around there. Good food. The Guides are friendly and informative.

One of the Oldest heritage places in Australia lot to see and learn. Nice cafe/ restaurant Lachlan's around there. Good food. The Guides are friendly and informative.

Old Government House is an amazing old home with lots of history. We had 2 very knowledgeable guides to talk to us about the house. A peaceful big park in the middle of a bustling city.

This destination is a must for anyone with an interest in the early history of NSW. Best approached by ferry from Circular Quay, from which it is then a short-ish walk to Parramatta Park. You can only explore the place while on a guided tour, but at least you get a very good idea of life in the early 1800s... More

Beautiful house and grounds, I just love showing my children Australian history and being able to walk through the rooms that people mentioned in our history books did!

What a great place to visit and see all the old rooms and furniture along with old crockery, etc. a lovely old building to visit. A perfect place for a wedding of which we were there for. Great photo opportunities.

Looked at the history of old groverment house. Also went there for my nieces wedding and what a lovely place to have a wedding.. The food was beautiful and the staff were also very helpful.

The tour of Old Government House is lead by volunteer guides, who are very knowledgeable about the place and the history of the people who lived and visited there, and of many of the items found in the house. Our guide told us stories of the governors and their families, and items such as the furnishings, the old clock in... More

Beautiful place in Parramatta that is historic and also they do ghost tours here every third Friday of the month. I did the ghost tour this month and it was very good. You get a lot of history and also go inside the house and in the broader park on the walking tour. Lovely supper is provided afterwards where you... More
