This was so interesting. Our guide Fred was very knowledgeable and we were fortunate to have him all to ourselves. I think the tours normally take around an hour but I guess depends how many questions you ask - we were there around 1 hr...More

Easy walk from ferry , train or bus as well as closer when you catch free bus. There are periodic exhibitions which I have seen several of. Always great. Beautiful "old " (for Australia) building . Gives you an insight into our early wealthy settlers.

The old house is magnificently sited on the top of the hill overlooking the river and surrounded by sweeping grass and large trees, a brief walk from Parramatta railway station. It is wonderfully restored and has some spectacular pieces of old Australian furniture. The guided...More

Unfortunately we had time restraints and our tour of Old Government House was a bit rushed but we enjoyed it all the same. The High Tea with a great quantity and variety of tasty food was a highlight of our few days spent in Parramatta.

Time travel is not really possible using technology. However, this place is frozen in time since 200 years ago. It is well worth a visit to realise the extent of globalisation even back in the 1800s. Many treasures from the past are preserved throughout the...More
