Most of the things are non functional. The walk around the lake is peaceful. Lake is nothing much to harp about. Not worth the entry tickets. Avoidable.

Excellent place. Kept very clean, has small play area for children. Full of monkeys around. The walk way round the lake is well kept and pleasing.

Pookode lake offers various activities like boating etc.
It was wonderful water Lillies with purple hues. It is a large lake and has a beautiful view. It has easy access and good for family trips as well. Pookode lake is near Vythri, one of the most beautiful locations in God's own country. You will get wonderful resorts to stay and enjoy the nearby pookode lake.

Place is quite crowded with tourists. Boating is an option. Opt for the two seater paddle boat and you can get one sooner. The jackfruit ice cream available at the snack bar is great - give it a try.

Pookode Lake is a scenic freshwater lake close to the boundary of the Wayanad and Calicut districts in Wayanad, Kerala. It has become a major tourist destination and has been promoted greatly by the Tourism Development Council of Wayanad District.
We visited this lake on our way from Wayanad to Calicut during our recent Kerala trip. Pookode is a natural freshwater lake nestling amid evergreen forests and mountain slopes at an altitude of 770 m above sea level. Kabini River originates here. The lake is supposed to resemble the shape of the map of India from the air but I couldn't make out the same when I visited the lake.
There is a species of cyprinid fish known to occur only in Pookode Lake.
The lake has boating facilities for the tourists and there are a few shops for eatables and a handicraft shop where a lot of local stuff can be procurred.
The lake is beautiful, but the facilities made to attract tourists has to a great extent spoilt the natural charm of the lake. The place has become overcrowded and unmanageable.

Enjoy a boat ride here. Both, self-pedalling as well as assisted boats are available.
Also, enjoy about 2km walk around the lake.
A very calm and peaceful place to spend some leisure time.
