It is most certainly a good trek for the young trekkers. It goes require very good fitness. It is surely not meant for first timers above certain age (45±) because except the first 1km to the tower, the rest 2kms are very steep making it very hard to climb. It is filled with leeches, so wear proper shoes and clothes. It also usually slippery, so climbing down is also a challenge. The trek is a total of 6kms two way, takes about 4 hours. The view on top definitely feels like heaven. If you are one of those who enjoy trekking experience, then this is your go to place.

We just had a peak view as the trek to heart shaped lake was stopped in recent days :( Lush green with coconut, palm tress with coffee and tea plantations are blissful.

Make sure to ask the locals before visiting this peak as it remains closed for hiking due to various reasons. Zostel Wayanad is very close by and can be an excellent spot to stay in Wayanad if you have come to hike the Chembra Peak,

One of my must-see place during my visit to Wayanad in May, 2019 is this place. I was very disappointed as this place is closed for visitors for now.
Not sure when this will be reopened.

What an amazing view and the 'heart shaped lake' is the cherry on the cake! All that trekking up the hill is worth it. The local guide who is compulsory with you from the forest check post - is a great initiative to keep the locals earn a livelihood while keeping the tourist destination neat and clean.

This scenic spot has been closed for quite some time now. The foggy and rainy weather doesn't support the visitors as the path to climb will be quite slippery. Unfortunately, it has been closed when I went there in the last monsoon season, when most of the time it's raining. Try to avoid going in the monsoon season as it may be shutdowned.

Chembra Peak is closed for quite some time now . Probably for more than 4 months. We still proceeded in our SUV to hit the last point possible. It was a very scenic ride. We were very happy to go ahead on the ride despite the closure board. We stopped at the lost point after which only tracking is allowed along with offical guide.
Excellent picturesque place. We will try our luck next time. You can see tea garden estate s on the the hill slopes all around

Chembara peak was closed when we visited in April. This is closed since January. Current status is unknown to me. You will need private taxi to go up and then official guides for tracking.
