The natural beauty and the walk is great. However disappointingly littered with rubbish. It was a putt off. I wonder what the local council is doing with the Toll fee that they collect from the tourist?

Kakochang Waterfalls

About an hour's drive from Kaziranga. You will have to park your vehicle about 1 km from the falls. Dont forget to carry slippers, you will have to walk through several streams. Shoes will get wet and walking barefoot will be problematic, so do carry your slippers. The walk will take about 15 to 20 minutes. Comfortable distance, manageable terrain. Carry your costume, towel etc, if you wanna take a dip in the falls.
The falls are beautiful, not crowded. Clean and peaceful place. You can spend about an hour or two over there. The water is chilled and refreshing. Some local villagers sell pineapples, Bamboo chicken etc close by, u can try that, it's good.
Overall, a nice place to go n enjoy.
P.S - Falls are almost like Doodhsagar falls - in Goa

Beautiful place to visit
Dec 2019 • Family
The falls is 25 KM's from the Orchid park in Kaziranga towards Tinsukia. We were lucky to get information of this falls from a driver. We have walk a bit from the parking place and cross five streams of water. We have to do little bit of trek also. Once you reach this place you will forget the stress undergone. The water falls from a height and is beautiful. If you are Kaziranga do visit this place.

This waterfall is a hidden gem of Assam.. we went from Dibrugarh so it took us 5hr to reach.. u can take your car which u have to park around 1km away from the falls and then trek till the falls through lushy green forest.. after reaching the destination, the feeling was out of the world.... At once we got into the water and had a lot of fun.. except us,there was only one other group n this created a feeling of a private falls 😀😀

Must visit - memorable experience
Dec 2018 • Family
Kakochang is one of the most beautiful waterfall I have ever visited. Lush greenery behind water which is white like milk, memorable site. The journey itself was very memorable. Felt as if we have reached in heaven.

Kakochang waterfall is situated near bokakhat in assam. It is also known as kaipholangso falls locally, so don't get confused as if these are two places.
It is approximately 30 kms from kaziranga national park and would take an hours drive to reach the place. Large part of the drive barring last 4-5 kms is very good.

To visit the waterfall, one has to trek for apprimately 3 kms, it took us 45 minutes to reach. There are seven waterstream which you would be required to cross on the way. The last 15 minutes of trek is challenging. I would not recommend the place for senior citizens who have joint pains. Additionally, as the place is secluded, make sure you leave the from waterfall for downward trek by 3.00 pm. We left our hotel at 12.30 pm, reached the place by 1.30 pm and began the trek. We reached the falls by 2.20 pm. Additionally, would also like to highlight that the location in google map is not correct and one would be required to obtain assistance after reaching bokakhat.

Beautiful world

We live in the world of social media and 24/7 news channels. We live in a world where everybody is telling us how things are wrong. What we should not eat, what we should not do.
I believe it's a beautiful world. Open your eyes to the nature and I see only beauty and peace. Kakokchang waterfall is just one in such abundance.

Adventure awaits!

This was the most unexpected part of our visit. On someone's recommendation we went to the waterfalls. The google maps location is incorrect so it was a bit of an adventure reaching the place.

After parking the car you need to trek for 30 min. You need to cross the stream 6 times before you reach the waterfall. So make sure your are not wearing shoes otherwise it's a pain wearing and removing them.

Once you reach the waterfall the views are stunning. The backdrop of leaves against the rocks and cascading water fall makes it a beautiful sight.
