Took a drive to Rapid Bay Beach to see what was there. Walked along the jetty on a cold windy day, but the beach is lovely. Many people were fishing off the jetty.

Absolutely magic spot with ocean views. On-site manager Wayne was friendly and helpful. Reasonable price - the view alone is worth the $ - flushing toilets a bonus!

This place must be doing really well because the manager (or someone who professed to be important) is the rudest person we've encountered in 10 years of travels (to identify him, he drove a blue Holden ute).
We hadn't planned to stay but have a look around for future reference. We parked outside and walked to the signage which had instructions for checking in.
We started walking across the park & this person called out. He told us it was private property &, like going to a cafe or supermarket, we had to sign in! (It is wide open space but no QR code or sign-in sheet).
He then said "you could be from anywhere & have the disease"!
He was dismissive of any questions, got in his car & drove off.
What a horrible, boorish bogan.
I doubt he'll be concerned but we won't be bac

Beautiful beach. But don't go in holiday season. If you do, expect vey little sleep.. too many young one's have no respect for families with children or anyone for that matter... music and loudness of their voices. we were awake til 3 in the morning a couple weeks ago.. there is no noise restrictions here AT ALL.......

Location is great being on the beach but:
Amenities are poor or non existent:
Toilets wouldn't pass a COVID-19 test
Price is per person per night A$12.50 C$7.50 so same as a proper caravan park if you add it up
No pottable water
No electricity
Half hour drive to empty your black tank
Half hour drive for even basic groceries
Purport to be Low Cost is bordering on a breach of the Trade Practices Act.
Will never go back unless they either add electricity and water for those prices or they charge the $10 per night per site fee similarly equipped campgrounds charge.

Long narrow clean beach, a blend of stone and sand. Stunning coastline with majestic cliffs and a cave to explore.

Rapid Bay is on e of a few beautiful beaches south of Adelaide. There are some historical monuments and a long fishing Jetty. At one end of the beach is a large Cave to be explored.

Have loved this place ever since I was little when we’d camp here almost on every school holiday. Beautiful character to the old jetty and a nice new jetty is in place. I hope the old jetty remains there too as it adds to the great vibe. Perfect spot for camping right on the beach front and extremely affordable.
Definitely a must see in South Australia.
