Great site even if there was bad weather this Sunday August 6. The chapel is magnificent, we climbed into the tower. Entrance is only 2 euros. Thanks to Laurent who welcomed us with extreme kindness, he advised us on the sites to visit in the surrounding area. Recommended.Lili

The Chapel on the Rocher du Dabo is a good viewpoint for the area. Unfortunately not a good point to stay as the restaurant was burned a few years ago and not rebuild.

This is an amazing place, set high over the surrounding countryside. Worth a visit! The rock is topped with a chapel, and there is a restaurant on the road to the top.

This chapel looks amazing, but unfortunately was closed during the winter when we came to visit. Be sure to check the opening times.

We have visited Dabo a few times whilst visiting family who live in this village. We always enjoy the drive to Dabo… it's a small village deep in the French forest and completely isolated from city life. The drive is peaceful, easy and relaxing, plentiful natural panoramic scenery making it one of the most tranquil villages in France. Rocher de Dabo is pretty special itself, it's altitude 664m -all but with an old church on top of the rock. Very unique and special site.
There's not many touristy things to do in this village, however it makes perfect location for those wanting a quieter weekend away. Would recommend dining at "Hotel Restaurant du Rocher" for truly traditional French cuisine. Not many shops around either, so those on a budget should consider bringing packed lunch/picnic. Overall a peaceful, and very pleasant trip.

The local municipalities have closed down the site as the hotel burned down a while back. The remaining structure is deemed to be unsafe and no longer accessible to the public ...

We went up to the chapel on the rock. The chapel has a tower that you can also climb up. The views of the villages around are very pretty. There is a temporary cafe selling drinks and crepes (the other restaurant is closed due to a fire). There are toilets here but be warned as they are the old traditional French ones.

We passed through here on a rather damp day in June 2018. In spite of the weather the views were impressive, especially from the Church tower. There is plenty of parking close at hand and the Roche is well signed. Neither the climb up to the Church nor the ascent of the Church tower is especially arduous, although the latter needs a bit of a head for heights as the rail is low! There is not a lot here except for the views although it appears that the burnt out restaurant below the church is being refurbished. The views and the Church are worth a detour if you are in the area, but they are not perhaps in the same league as, say, the Hohneck further south.

The church wasn't open when we visited, but it's worth to climb to the top for the view of the environment.

It looks nice from afar, but that's it. Couldn't enter while it should be open. The restaurant near it is closed because of a fire. The route to it is nice, but would not recommend unless you're sure it's open. Note: a lot wind! Very cold in winter.
