The beach is coarse sand and littered. Not for swimming due to steep gradients on the beach and strong undercurrents but a lovely view.
The beach is interspersed by rock formations that make it a nice place for a beach hike.
We started from the taj bekal side and making our way thru rock formations climbed a hillock and then hiked from a fishing village in a circle back to the hotel.
Not very stressful needs average agility but not for senior citizens.

The beach is relatively clean. It is a long stretch. It is fun to watch the fisherman early
Morning and the sunset at nights. Can not swim though due to currents.

Kappil river flows through the premises of the Taj Bekal Resort and meets the Lakshwadeep sea. The resort has kappil beach on the west side and kappil river on the south side. A pedestrian bridge has been constructed across the river by the hotel. The beach is long and narrow with clean sands. All along the beach trees have been planted. The hotel has kept beach chairs for sunbathing and has also provided a shower on the beach. Large amount of sand has been placed by the sea waves at the mouth of the river. Due to sand deposition the river mouth has been closed and the river does not meet the sea during non monsoon months. The water in the river is absolutely still with no waves. Hotel has provided kayaking facility in the river. More than 20 different species of birds stay along the river/ beach. Hotel arranges for guided tour and also provides binoculars for bird watching. The beach is not safe for swimming due to waves of large height. Warning signs have been erected by the hotel. However the beach is most suitable for long walks in the evening and early morning. It is a isolated beach where you can enjoy nature at its best.

We've just gotten back from our Family holiday to Vivanta by Taj, Bekal and we can just not get the gorgeous sight out of our mind! The beach was 2 minutes walk from the hotel and a stunning sight! It was clean... filled with beautiful shells of different shapes, sizes and colours! It was calm, quiet and we could probably spend all day there in absolute peace! The sight of the sun set was beyond Picture Perfect!

This beach attached to Vivanta by Taj, is actually a public beach. The hotel guests can access the beach which has the end point of the backwater on one side and the other end extends far to some other area. Particularly the area which you can access from Taj is well guarded, clean and secluded. Seems the visitors are mostly the hotel guests (atleast this time of the year) so no worries of unwanted people.
Taj also operates a restaurant By the Bay on the beach but not operational in Monsoon.
Perfect for a nice long walk all by yourself.

This was not on the list....We were heading to Bekal fort and bekal beach, on the way we saw the board of Kappil beach and we were having enough time so took the turn and reached here. There was nothing at all except big big tides, untouched clean white sand, big trees on one side and nice breeze. When we reached weather was overcast and little shower for some time then it was pleasant and good. This is perfect for the guys who love to see the true nature part and peace.

Note: there are no one in next 1-2 KMs to watch over so not a recommended place but worth a visit if you have time. No food no facilities, not good for going into water.
But still we had a amazing time with the combination of peace and excellent weather but might not be the same with everyone so giving it a 3 rating. But if you happen to be near to this place in such weather must visit this place(See photos).

It is a wonderful and well-kept beach with amazing views and gorgeous greenery. The ocean is magnificent although currents are dangerous and swimming is risky if not banned. Wonderful sunsets and sunrises.
