Saw this divine and majestic glacier which is the source of the most sacred river of India - Ganges. The glacier is spread across a large area. From a distant, we got to see just few portions of the glacier. It was a bliss and pleasure for my eyes.

Largest glacier of Himalayas from which River Ganga flows. After a trek of few kilometres we were in the visual range of the glacier from which the most holy and largest river of India descends.

We spotted this Glacier from a distance in Gangotri National Park. It was a bliss to see the source of River Ganga. Gangotri glacier is one of the largest glacier in the Himalayas. It is surrounded by several mountain peaks. We could see the River Bhagirathi flowing from the glacier.

We started walking from Gangotri town to reach Gomukh. Road condition is too bad and dangerous. Our experience doesn't match with those of our friends and family members who visited earlier.

A Trek to 15000 feet covering a total of 50km by walk and sometimes by climbing at almost 70 degrees. When my friend Rajesh jokingly challenged me to join him for Trek to tapovan, 4600m above, in Himalayas initially I took as joke. He is an avid trekker and have done more than two dozen treks in Himalayas. I used... More
