After we explored a few dog friendly beaches nearby we concluded that Tomakin is the best one for dogs and for the owners. It is long, water is shallow (suitable for kids and non-confident swimmers). There are usually lots of dogs so your dog can socialize. There are also the toilet and shower available. Parking lot is OK if you are the early bird, otherwise you can park along the street and walk a bit.

Wonderful beach but please be aware a large chunk of it is a 24hr off leash dog beach....we had someone yell at us about our dog being offlead and he wasn’t disrupting anyone! Just wandering along in the surf with all the other dogs. Seriously, there’s a no dogs area further up - take your family there if you don’t like dogs.

This one of those family beaches that are fast disappearing from the Aussie east coast. There's a protected beach where you can actually swim without getting bashed by the surf. However, if it's surf you want you can get that too by going around the corner nearby.

The beach is easy to access from many points, no huge waves & no rips or under currents to speak of but chat with the locals on the day first

The suburb of Tomakin is around Broulee and Mossy Point and not too far from Bateman's Bay or Moruya. A quiet little secret and the Tomakin beach is an unspoilt local beach. Beautiful with waves crashing. The Tomakin Cove is a protected lagoon which has some lovely rock outcrops and great for exploring and walking.

Tamakin Beach is just around from Barling Beach to the north around Melville Point which is a great place to take in the panorama of Tomakin Beach with its golden sand and blue water.

Lovely spot, great for our dog and paddle boarding. Not to deep and a bit sheltered. Nice area. Gets very busy in peak periods.

We went down to the beach a number of times. It was quiet as it was cold, but because of the weather was not very busy. Quite a clean beach and very good for walks along the shore line.It does go for a long way but very enjoyable.

We want to know distances between Moorings Phase II to each beaches , If possible, included map is good. We will be there at the end of this month, and plan to drive around. Why so much dogs at the beaches! Waiting to hear from you soon. Thanks.

Can’t answer the first bit but the second....most of these beaches are dog friendly or on timeshare arrangements to allow dogs. Some (like Tomakin) are specifically off leash dog beaches. If you don’t like dogs, don’t go to this beach.
