This has always been a very popular place with our family have been going there for over 50 years, went with friends, can either have a Punic lunch or a BBQ . Beautiful day with lots of wattle out.

We had a lovely time at Churchmans Brook with the grandchildren and their dad. The BBQ are electric and were very clean, the weather was nice and sunny. Lots of birds that came and visit us which was nice. We walked along the path which the children enjoyed. We would definitely go there again

Hard to find the dam as the sign is facing only 1 direction (when you approach Soldiers Road after leaving Brookton Highway).
I did not find the place the first time, found it only during the second attempt as I saw more info from Armadale Visitor Centre.
Did not get to see the waterfall, might have missed it again.
Much smaller, compared to Canning Dam.

I went for a drive and heading up towards the Roleystone area, on the Brookton Hwy, I turned off onto Soldiers Road and followed it around for about 3.5kms where i found the entrance to Churchman Brook Dam.
You have a few main areas around Churchman Brook Dam, there is a green patch large enough to kick a ball around on the right as you enter, and if you continue straight down the hill you have parking bays to the left.
In front of the parking bays you have a large gravel area, which has covered bbq's and covered seating areas as well as a new looking toilet block. You also have access to drop of close by if you need to, through the carpark, it helps if your unloading an esky or two.
If you keep driving past the first parking area you come another on the right this is below the dam spillway to a green grassy area again. Otherwise you can go over the other side of the spillway to another parking spot which has access to a lawned area with more seated areas and bbqs. Its a great little spot.
If you want to get a good look at the dam itself you can turn right just as you enter through the main gate, this takes up up the hill where more parking bays are located and another bbq, then its an easy stroll to the top of the dam, great view of the hillsides and the water.

A quiet bush location, some BBQs, some nice walks, lawn areas, no entrance fee. It is located near my home and we often go there for a cuppa (from our Thermos) during the week when it is nearly deserted.

We 4 ladies went to Churchman's Brook for an 80th birthday get- together BBQ lunch.
We went mid-week and were able to park close to a table, the BBQs and the facilities. All of which was important for mildly disabled people who puff and pant and fuss when there's a longer distance to negotiate!. It was a beautiful sunny day with few people, plenty of magpies and other birds, and the ambient peace of the tall trees, bush and pleasant non-argumentative company. A lovely place with plenty of parking, open areas, walking trails, dam and creek.

We dropped into the dam to take a look. There are nice views over the dam. We walked across the top of the earthen wall dam which was nice.
Below the dam, beside the creek there is a really nice picnic area. Lots of seating, picnic tables and bbqs.
This place is not far from Armadale or Perth for that matter and is a great country picnic escape.

If you have time this Dam is great to go to on your own during the day. Peaceful and quiet with plenty of walks. The dam is well maintained as well as the lawns around the picnic areas. There is a nice stream with ducks galore and lots of area to sit and have a picnic. It is very quiet during the day. For families the area is well thought out with toilet and bbq facilities and plenty of lawn space to kick a football though it can get a trifle crowded on weekends.

Nice area for a BBQ or picnic. Room to kick a ball. Good walk around the dam wall. Nice grassed areas to sit or covered area for shade if you get there early.

The views around this Dam are very good , facilities are limited which is a shame , the dam is in the bush so take personal insect spray as during the summer months flys and mosquitoes can be a nuisance but well worth a visit

Hi are dogs allowed on the grassed picnic areas?
Been searching churchmans brook comes up when you google parks that allow dogs on another map shows dogs not allowed in water catchment areas just wondering what specific areas that would be obviously the water itself and where the water would run in the wetter months (usually dogs not allowed on play grounds so I’m guessing that would also apply) this would be our first time visiting and as we are up from Bunbury for the weekend we have no choice but to have our dog with us. it’s for a family lunch so just trying to find a place that suits everyone lol
Thank you
