We visited this as part of a Phuket city tour and the only word I can use is strange.
The place is a concept of a traditional Thai floating market with a boat ride down a makeshift river. We arrived just before it opened so we were the only visitors there. We were shown to a boat and took the short ride down a river expecting a floating market (Thai people in boats selling produce) but all we saw were model elephants along the river bank. There are the usual souvenir shops selling Thai goods.
Would I recommend this? Absolutely not

Thalang Maneekram is the place for learning Thai culture and activities ie. boat sight seeing, Loy Krathong and Songkran, Thai costume and shopping. If you would like to learn cooking, they have a class for Thai cooking class at 11 AM, 12.30 PM, 2 PM and 3.30 PM.
For Songkran Festival have 3 rounds per days; 1.30 PM, 3 PM and 4.30 PM.
In that area they have wall painting, you can enjoy photo shooting.

I came here with my girlfriend to experience local Thai historical cultural architecture and shopping in general. The highlight was dressing up in traditional clothing and having our pictures taken on set by a professional photographer and having pictures framed for us. Then we enjoyed a artificially manufactured river cruise in the venue. We rode a canoe in true old fashioned Thai style in our clothing with umbrellas and had a guide at the rear driving us around. It really was a realistic insight into an era long ago.
We are both big fans of the famous Thai TV soap drama that recently aired called "Bhuppae Sunniwat" (บุพเพสันนิวาส) meaning love destiny. How appropriate.
You can choose your package when entering. Overall it cost us (me) 850 baht. 350 for Thai's and 500 for foreigners.
Very enjoyable experience.

Phuket is famous not only for beaches and islands but also for tourist attractions. One of most visited places recommended for the group of friends or family is Thalang Maneekram where I could enjoy cutural architecture beauty, Thai culinary delicacies, shopping offers.
If you like taking photos and love to join the Songkran festival no matter when you are there, it is the right destination for you :)))

We heard about this place from one of the restaurants we visited. It was said to be a new market in which you are able to eat, shop and just relax at.
The best part about this market is that it allows you to experience the Thai festivals all year round without being there for the actual dates!
We played songkran in this large outdoor space, which was a lot of fun. We also did a mini Loi Krathung celebration which was very interesting.
I also enjoyed the fact that they had Thai Costumes for rent in which you get to play dress up and walk around the market taking pictures.
What a wonderful idea to expose Thai culture to the rest of the world.

This is a new attraction in Phuket that has been opened recently, but one of the best ones I've been to! They have a Thai costume rental service, where you can rent one and take photos around with the surrounding Thai scenery, I felt like I was transported back into the Thai ancient times! The boat ride around the city was also very enjoyable, and also lots of street food to choose from. I would definitely come back again!
