I recommend hiring a taxi driver to drive you around for a few hours and just make random stops of choice. Our last day we had a half day before catching a flight and decided to just make random stops via taxi. This was one and it’s super pretty!!! This ride actually made me wish I stayed in Karon! It’s beautiful here

We love visiting this viewpoint. We always hire motorbikes and take a ride through Kata and up the hill to the viewpoint. There is a nice cafe on the way up the hill on the left that serves cakes, coffees and shakes. Z
Often at the viewpoint you can pay to have amazing photos holding a white falcon, and you can see amazing views of the beaches along the coast towards Kata and Karon. Great photo point on a clear day.

When we arrived here we saw a lady with a fish Eagle 🦅 tied up charging tourists for pictures with this poor creature. Needless to say this was disgusting.
The view point itself is good. There’s nothing else to do in this spot but just take a few snaps and that’s what we did. It was pretty average.

This offers absolutely stunning views of the sea front, well worth a visit. I walked here, though would not recommend this as the roads are not really built for pedestrians - best to hire a motorcycle or catch a tut tut. There are some stalls selling snacks, drinks, ice creams etc.

The views from this spot are impressive, but I wouldn't suggest that you go out of your way to find your way here.
Facilities are pretty much non existent, there is a dodgy photo op [at a cost of course] with a chained eagle, if that floats your boat!
Many of the tours around Phuket will take you here but frankly, the views are at least as good at the Big Buddha, and there is more to see and do there.
5-10 minutes max here.

You can take a cab from. Caron beach to reach this place. You may catch sunset on a clear day.
Not much else to do, fine place to spend few hours if there's nothing else to do

Went exploring on the scooter and found lots of things like quad trekking and various elephant safari place s
When u get there it can be busy with 14 seater mini buses.
Great to see the area from the location.
A must for camera buffs to get the perfect sun rise or sun down.

Friday 14th and here was the first stop on our Explore Phuket Tour.
Our guide took us to the best photo and view vantage points.
It was a little bit overcast when we were here, however it did not hinder our view of the 3 beaches, Karon , Kata Yai, Kata Noi beaches.
While the views were rather spectacular the viewpoint itself was disappointing, it was rather dirty rubbish piled up and ashtrays overflowing with cigarette butts.

The area itself seems somewhat neglected but worth stopping and then the climb to the viewing area to enjoy the wonderful vistas along the coastline in either direction and out to the ocean and islands. Lush tropical vegetation descends the hillside to the beach areas. We didn't venture to the snack stands or stallholder areas, preferring to enjoy a snack break at Rawai.

This is a popular viewing point at a height and we had visited the same during our sightseeing in Phuket. The picturesque view of the blue sea and white sand beaches at a distance are absolutely stunning and a photographer's delight. We relaxed in the shade soaking in the views and clicking as many pictures as possible.

How do you change the location of this post? It is an incorrect location on the maps
Written 8 December 2018
I don't know it was correct when i posted but the system moved it :) The view point in in Phuket past Kata beach heading south on the coastal road .

Is there a walking track to the viewpoint from karon?
Written 14 November 2018
I wouldn’t say there was a walking track, although we used a vehicle as part of a tour to get there and it was a distance from the town of Karon.
We never looked into a walking track but I’d suggest taking a vehicle to this point.

is this a good activity for young children to join?
Written 3 February 2018
It is just a view point with some steep stairs to the top. We made a quick stop when passing from Naiharn beach. In my opinion it makes no sense just going there for a look. Guess we stayed for 10-15min max.

Возможно ли догулять до/с точки с коляской с Карона. Есть ли тротуары?
Written 23 March 2017
Полностью поддерживаю Ирину, гулять с коляской до этого места с Карона вам точно не понравится )))

Hi all, I've heard a lot of stray dogs hang around areas like this. I have a big dog phobia but am trying not to let that ruin a bucket list trip to Thailand. Should I avoid Karon viewpoint altogether, or are there ways to avoid the dogs?
Written 23 October 2016
We saw two dogs sleeping at the very top of the view point. We visited early in the morning, there were no other visitors and the dogs were more than happy sleeping in the sun. They didn't approach us or even give us a second glance. They certainly wouldn't deter us from returning or recommending the attraction to others. Enjoy!

Le Meridien has 7 restaurants ? can we expect that , that many will be available in mid Oct ? not that I really need that many ! I am concerned that husband will have plenty of Western food choice !! thanks kim
Written 10 August 2015
Not sure about Le Meridian itself but I have been to Phuket 8 times and there is an enormous amount of western food venues available in general....you won't have to look far at all !

do we need to bring our own beach towels?
Written 8 June 2015
No, they are provided in a beach bag daily for your use! very convenient. On the odd occasion it may not be replaced just ask one of the many eager to please staff!
