Very small village between Sangla and Chitkul is mesmerising. With couple of hotels and home stay this is nice place to stay if you are going in your own can.

The Rakcham meadows are a sight to behold. It is one of those places that leaves an everlasting impression on your mind and the memories of which will always transfer you to a happy place. The lush green meadows intertwined with small rills flowing in zig zag form and groups of coniferous trees spread across the flatland like watchers of the meadow and surrounded by the high peaks covered with snow makes this a place from heaven. No words are enough to explain the feeling and the experience. Its a worth visit place. There are small trek routes nearby which can be explored by enthusiasts.

I am reviewing shosla cafe in Rakcham as of now , the only cafe in rakcham .
Terrible experience and I would advice travellers to eat and try in Sangla valley at various places rather than at this place , so do not try until u want to shell out money and still be hungry after long drive

preparation 4/10
Rates 2/10

We tried the following with family
Pakora 8 pcs , 200
Chilta 200 , thin like chilla
Seabuck thorn juice 150 plus
Maggi 200
For snacks we paid 1200 which was exorbitant

What was nice
Red chutney of garlic lasun and tomatoes
Ambience , as far better than fast food corners on the way

Please eat at Sangla valley as there are lot places but would advice not to stop here , even chitkul has some nice places to eat which I will write separately

We visited visited beautiful small village Rakcham on 4th April 2021.This year no of tourists are very less therefore we had enjoyed great Himalayan peace.

Behind this successful roadtrip I want to mention the contribution of Mr Sonu (Cont no 9816378229/9817356899) who provided us car for the entire trip in Kinnaur and drove along with us.
Although we had stayed at Batseri but we spent plenty of time at Rakcham under clear blue sky and sun.

We went to Kalpa, Sangla and Chitkul in last week of Jan 2021. Kalpa offers gorgeous views of the Kinnaur range and since it is on a height, the views are very astonishing and different. Chitkul is the last village on Indo-Tibet border side and offers great valley views. We also visited Shimla (local sights), kufri, chail, Kali ka tibba, chail palace, etc. on our way back to Chandigarh. We had taken a cue from tripadvisor reviews for finding a suitable cab and found Sonu/Dharamveer ji. He is a great driver cum travel guide with local and historic knowledge of these areas. His vehicle is also well maintained, clean and comfortable. He is very affable and mature and himself takes initiative to show new places and tells all about these places.

A beautiful village which looks just out of cartoon movies in which you see the starting of all stories. You will hardly see a soul around but the whole entrance setting is amazing.

One way to reach Rakcham is to drive from Sangla. The better way is to do the Rakcham hike from Sangla and arrive in Rakcham. Simply Beautiful
