Hiking, walking or siteseeing

This area is rich in archeological and natural sites. Appenine mountains are ideal for hiking and wildlife -specially bird watching.
At the coast there is town of Gaeta and islans of Ponza if you want to spend few days at the beach.
Local guide Silvio d'Alessio ( 0039 389 1159 623) was a very competent and gracious host. He was our hiking guide. Silvio was an amazing source of informations about flora and founa (specially birds) of the area but also about good places to eat.

In summer, perfect for escaping the heat and for conducting long level walks or bike rides

Best cycling path? Take the track connecting Terranera and Rocca di Cambio. It is NOT near a road like most of the others. Perfect at sunset.
Best guided walks? Go to the little kiosk next to the main bar in the main square. There are walks almost daily in summer
Best restaurant? Tough call, but the one to your left at the start of the main square is just redecorated and continues to have very good cooking.
Best hotel? Don't know but forget the Grand Hotel, unless a nice indoor small swimming pool is essential.

Breath-taking view. You feel small in front of such majesty. Definitely worth seeing to relax. Excellent for finding refreshment on hot summer days.
