The Centre is home to Lancaster NX611 and a museum based on a WWII airfield with original control tower, Escaping Society museum, Home Front exhibition, Hampden restoration project, memorial chapel and many memorabilia exhibitions. The Centre is open Mon-Sat. Closed Sundays. During the Summer the Lancaster performs taxy runs usually once a week. It is possible to have a taxy ride on the Lancaster, booking is essential as rides get booked up months in advance.

Loved this place, perhaps not as complete as the Battle of Britain Flight at Coningsby, and we did get to stand within 20 feet of 'Just Jane' as she taxied off the apron. Great to support such a fantastic endeavour

The film "The Dam Buster" was based on the events started from here. Looking round the briefing hut and the billet hut evokes the atmosphere of that time. I am a warbird fan and to see and hear Just Jane was amazing. She has been repainted during the winter and she is totally immaculate in every detail. I really hope she flies one day. If you like anything to do with WWII RAF Bomber Command, this is a MUST visit. Just driving into the gates is impressive with its war poignant memorial. Stop and remember them. You then drive on to an ample parking area with genuine hangars, beautiful sight. Out of your vehicle and through to the shop and NAAFI where they only... More

This visit was for a taxi ride in the Lancaster bomber. The whole day was well organised, beginning with talks explaining the history of the airfield and the plane. There was in addition plenty of exhibition material and reconstructions in various buildings around the site. As well as the ride itself there was the chance to explore the whole aircraft... More

Incredible place to visit. So much history and nostalgia. Everybody working there really has a passion for what they're doing and it's infectious. Such wonderful people

Excellent museum - the Lanc was taxying, which was a bonus. Volunteer staff could not have been more friendly or helpful. Highly recommended.

Was fortunate to ride in the Lancaster bomber for a taxy ride on the runway, the whole experience gave me goosebumps.Right from the guided tour to the excellent lunch the whole experience was memorable.A big thank you to all involved.
