My wife and I really enjoyed our visit to the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre, there is a lot to see and it really illustrated how brave the crews of Bomber Command were, another nice aspect is that there is also information about the often forgotten ground crews and base staff. One area we found particularly moving was to be able... More

A chance to see Jane in a state of undress! Amazing to see this historic plane anyway, but to to be able to see her stripped of paint, parts removed and in bits was a rare treat. Staff were great, knowledgable and friendly. Do it now. Ask them about EBay and its connection with the Lancaster.

A truly fantastic museum, not to be missed. For me the best bit is the carefully researched stories behind every exhibit. Even the smallest piece of wood or metal has a story behind it that brings the piece to life. Some really interesting and well preserved relics, all clearly displayed. The taxi run in the Lancaster is the one thing... More

Highlight for us was actually seeing the Lancaster bomber start up and taxi out onto the airfield and then back onto the hanger. So many interesting things to see and learn from - an entire hanger full of hart wrenching stories of fallen air crews from WWII and also planes and vehicles from that era. So sad to think of... We went to East Kirkby for the night taxi of "Just Jane" . This is the second time we have made this trip just for the night taxi and on both occasions it was a fantastic experience. The exhibits are very good and if you are lucky enough to get a ride on the Queen Mary it really takes you... More

In the heart of former bomber country, but off the main tracks. Quirky little exhibits on some aspects of war less covered by others. Was a treat linked to last taxi runs of the season. Crowds were massive, queues for food ridiculous. But a great day out - really helped that the weather was good. The historical atmosphere created when... More

1. My favourite part is the bullet hole in the pole. 2. My second favourite part is the different dismantled plane parts. 3. My third favourite part was the morse code. 4. I would be the goldfish club because I would be safer.

The bomb is very big and I liked it. I loved the Lancaster bomber. It has 5 bombs in it. It is very loud but my favourite was the big bomb and bouncing bomb. They had flares, snipers, muskets, grenades, knifes and machine guns. In the escape museum I would have liked to be in the goldfish club because you... More

We visited on Saturday 29th October 2016, and watched two of the three taxi runs by Lancaster 'Just Jane', one in the afternoon and the other in the evening at 19:00. The evening run being very evocative of what it must have been like during the war with the Lancaster taxying out into the night, with lovely noises coming from... More
