A small but well maintained zoo. Can be covered in 2-3 hours. INR 30 for entry and INR 50 extra for the aquarium. Further extra charges for the Cactus area, which we didn't visit.
Aviary area houses the main exhibits. We saw pheasants, parrots & turkeys. It was a pleasant surprise to see some vultures, which are becoming extinct in India. It was quite sad, however, to realise that these birds who are used to soaring so high in the sky are kept confined to such a small area where they can't even spread their wings fully.
Aquarium appears to be overpriced.
Very few mammals. There are a few varieties of deer. We did see a leopard but it was pacing up and down the breadth of its cage, obviously agitated at being kept captive in a small space.
While there's enough noise being made about wearing masks, most of the visitors were not paying heed to it.
There's ample parking space available.

The zoo was really clean and very well maintained. The reptiles and the aquarium was fantastic. However i didnt see many bigfer animals like the tiger or elephant which would attract the kids more.

It was a nice experience though.

If you stay in dehradun its a place ur kids would insist on going. Its not a tourist destination buta small park with handful of animals. My son who is 3 yr old is fan of this place. Monkeys are enough for him to come to this place again and again.
Overall average place nothing great about it

Earlier, it was a fantastic place full of animals... but now, it is as good as an area for landfilling.
All you can see are one or two birds, a peacock, four owls and one tiger...It is better that one goes for a jeep safari at Jim Corbett instead.... The tiger is the worst one you will ever witness...
from a mile and half away, you can smell its stench which will make you puke....

TOTAL WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY..... :c

Nothing much to do or see here. Entry fee is dirt cheap. This is located far out from the Dehradun town area,on the Mussoorie highway, just on the right hand side, before a culvert.

I went during my journey to Mussoorie one morning, and it was raining heavily,as monsoon had already set in , in those areas. Went inside for a quick tour, but couldn't take a lot of pictures due to rain.Just one photograph of the entrance was taken by me.

Just stop with your kids and enjoy the small enclosures with some animals. Thats all

Just go by the name - Malsi dear park - I mean you can for sure see dears in the park in one corner.

Don't expect a typical zoo where you can see lot of animals and enrich your kid with lot of information. What you can do is have a relaxed time with your family here. There are good deal of stuff to keep kids busy. Lot of free space for kids to run around and best part almost all the area of the park is covered by shades of trees.

A simple but still good picnic can be planned. The canteen is average but still you can get the stuff required to complete the visit.Ample amount of parking place available for 2 and 4 wheeler. The wash rooms are basic but solves the purpose.

There are lot of other birds placed in the park with leopard but the fun is just roaming around. The peak sun of summer looks quite comfortable in park shades.

In nut shell, worth going and spending some time. Kids will enjoy and you will have good quality time with family.

If you do not mind not seeing much in this park, then pls visit. But of you are expecting to see a big number of free running deer, it's exactly the wrong place for that. Good for small kidz who can just run around and play with monkeys and enjoy some swings and see saw rides. Beware of monkeys!
