Well worth the small cost, I think it's about 2euro.
We couldn't find opening times anywhere but if you email the tourist office they will give them to you. In July 2018 they were 10am, 11.30am and 1pm Monday to Saturday.

We stayed just outside the town in a lovely villa with views of Iznajar town and lake. The lakeside beach is fabulous. The town is nice - small but surprisingly well serviced and busy.

You see it from the road. It is perched on the top. Drive up there or walk. parking is easy even if the car wheezes a little getting up there. Great views and not too far to walk to get a well earned drink
