Once a formal garden built for Peter the Great, this popular park still has more than 80 of the original marble statues and sculptures and houses Peter's Summer Palace, a simply designed two-story building that now displays many of the ruler's own artifacts.

We went during winter so we do not believe we saw the full beauty of the palace as the fountains and all the water around it were frozen over! The inside was beautiful and it was a very well priced visit. Finding this palace by...More

We visited this palace later in the afternoon in the middle of winter, probably bad timing on both counts. It was still spectacular even in the winter but the gardens, one of the main attractions, aren't much to see without thriving plants. The building still...More

This palace is interesting and worth a visit if your timetable allows. It is being wonderfully re-built but needs more period furnishings. A good guide, as we had - Irene from Esperance - makes the tour really interesting. She has all the history and context...More

I really enjoyed going to the Grand Palace. Being able to see all the fountains and ride the ground in a cart was really nice. The boat ride out to the Palace was nice.

The place is total rebuild. This means the inside is not as it was when built. Accordingly, I wold not recommend joining the line to go in. Instead, go here for the lower gardens and the photo opportunity of the place which from the outside,...More

A 1/2 hour to 45 minute boat ride away from St. Petersberg. Plan on spending at least 1/2 a day. Leave as early in the morning from St. Petersberg as you can to avoid the crowds and get the better pictures of the palace and...More

The biggest attraction is probably the fountains, which are closed during winter. But there is much to see, in wintertime, too. Like most castles, its a lot to take in. But history lessons from the guide was great. I learnt as a swede, that the...More

We went with SPB tours with a small group. They picked us up at the cruise ship in a small bus (10 people + guide and driver), took care of the admission to Peterhof, gave us a nice tour of the interior and exterior, and... More
