Once a formal garden built for Peter the Great, this popular park still has more than 80 of the original marble statues and sculptures and houses Peter's Summer Palace, a simply designed two-story building that now displays many of the ruler's own artifacts.

We got lucky and hit Peterhof on a bright sunny day and it couldn't been any better. Spectacular place to visit and a must see when in SPB. I suggest you time your visit to minimize the crowds. We went on a Friday and arrived...More

It is no wonder that Peterhof estate is often referred to as the 'Russian Versailles', the gardens and fountains are stunning and the gold leaf on the numerous statues gives opulence to this fascinating UNESCO World Heritage Site. There are 64 fountains, all of which...More

The summer palace, gardens, and incredible fountains are a must see in St. Petersburg. You will never see so much gold and opulence from a period when out was all about looking good and showing off. And the fountains are probably nothing like you have...More

The Grand Palace Fountains and Gardens are an exceptional site to behold. We had a guide extraordinaire who took us to see the hidden fountains. Be sure you get to see the trick fountains, that spray water on people as they walk by.

The 5 stars rating was for the fountains and they were impressive. No photos were allowed inside the palace. Interior was well maintained. The crowds were so large visiting the interior, it was very challenging to appreciate the beauty.

Probably about 1 hours drive from St Petersburg, lots of walking but worth it. Not sure if it would have been the same if the weather had been bad. Our guide took us around the main fountains and was very informative.

This place is big so be prepared to walk, walk, walk. Wear a great pair of shoes because your feet will thank you at the end of the day!

I and my wife, plan to visit SP in mid-March 2017, not sure what is the weather like? We would like to get there by hydrofoil, and visit the garden first if more time allowed, perhaps we will go inside the palace. Questions: Is the entrance ticket good for both the lower and upper gardens? Are the fountains all operational as usual? Aren't there any discount if we purchase the combined tickets? How is Grand Palace compare with the Catherine Palace which we intent to visit (before or after) Any discount for senior or student?

Yes There are stairs , but they don't get your life difficult. Children were not tired by that. Of course elderly people may face some difficulties

Second question what is the price/ prices to enter the different parts of the castle (how many different components are their) PS - their website is quite confusing

Paying for the hydrofoil only gets you the hydrofoil ride---yes, you still have to pay for everything else. We were there in May 2016. When we bought our hydrofoil ticket we HAD to purchase a return. We guessed how long we... More
