Once a formal garden built for Peter the Great, this popular park still has more than 80 of the original marble statues and sculptures and houses Peter's Summer Palace, a simply designed two-story building that now displays many of the ruler's own artifacts.

The palace is worth a visit and so it the beautiful garden and landscaping outside. Its like a huge park and gold sculptures. Pretty fascinating. You cannot take pictures inside the palace but its so worth a visit. Lots to walk so bear that in mind.

An hours drive from St Petersberg this is a must do. No pictures inside palace and babushkas in every room monitoring movements but this does not detract from viewing history. However what makes this an essential visit is the fountain gardens. It is not cheap to visit but you will remember it forever.

Beautiful royal palace. Recommend the visit. Although no pictures are permitted inside, the interiors are really worth visiting. Heard lots of nice stories about tsars family.

So take water and snacks with you as all the food spots... More

My adult daughter and I visited just today. We easily took an Uber from our Nevsky Prospekt hotel to Peterhof where we toured the castle and then walked down to the water. The castle was beautiful. We were afraid we might have castle overload after touring the Catherine Palace yesterday, but we were awed again today. The audio guide gave... More

Incredible place, so huge. The gardens are lovely and do not miss the fountain show. Walk down to the shore line. Lots of souvenir shops outside the grounds for all your mementos.

The fountains, alone, are worth the trip. A child of an early Founding Father is buried there. We have Always had close ties to Russia. Never taught in our schools.
