Real Journeys puts together a great tour. The boats have more than enough seating in the warm cabins and plenty of space on the outside decks. You can stay inside the cabins the entire time and still have a great view of the fiords. However, you will want to step outside for at least part of the cruise. Don't worry,... More

Amazing overnight cruise on Doubtful Sound! Stunning scenery, tumbling waterfalls, seals on the rocks, pod of dolphins passing nearby and a fly past from mollymawk albatrosses! The crew on the Fiordland Navigator were terrific – fun, knowledgeable, efficiently producing great meals and snacks and always willing to stop and help or answer questions.

I took the day cruise in Doubtful Sound and it was terrific. The coach picked us up from Queenstown. It was a long day, but well worth it for the scenery. The staff was terrific and although there was rain, it kept the sand flies away and we saw countless waterfalls. I recommend pre-ordering the lunch.

Good facilities, informative and friendly staff, very pleasing amount of time spent onboard. Free movement around the various decks, adapted trip to take advantage of decent weather conditions.

Real Journeys organised this marvellous overnight cruise. Doubtful Sound has many different arms and the cruise explored many of them. Saw NZ fur seals, woke up to see a school of dolphins accompanying the boat. The trip included activities such as kayaking, swimming and visiting the shoreline on a tender boat. Food excellent and staff very attentive. This trip is... More

Holy crap you have to do this. Great ship and crew, and doubtful sound is as beautiful as milford sound for sure. Expensive but worth it.

We were lucky enough to experience both the Milford Sound and Doubtful Sound. If you have time for both I'd recommend doing so! However, if you have to choose, pick Doubtful! I can't really explain why but it was definitely less touristy and more "untouched" than Milford felt. My favorite parts were seal island and the moment of silence we... More

A long day but well worth it. We took a bus from Queenstown to Lake Manapouri, a 50" boat ride across the lake, a 45" bus ride over Wilmot Pass to Deep Cove. There we boarded a boat for a cruise down Doubtful Sound to the Tasman Sea. We thoroughly enjoyed our 3.5 hours at Doubtful Sound even though we... More
