This was the true highlight of our trip to Ireland. First we enjoyed George and his three border collies, who explained and demonstrated how the dogs herded sheep. It was hard to be more enthusiastic than these dogs but we were. Their intelligence and energy was astonishing. After these lovely animals were finished working, their intensity vanished and they enjoyed being petted and played with.
That would have been enough to create an unforgettable day but then we went inside the farmhouse for sandwiches, tea, scones and cream, accompanied by a charming Irish musician. He entertained us with traditional songs and instruments. It was almost as much fun as watching the dogs. These authentic experiences are vanishing so I hope that you'll go and support them

Glen Keen Farm is a wonderful experience of a working sheep farm, with the sheep herding exhibition and famine tour the best in the west of Ireland! It has a very informative visitor centre and a lovely café and craft shop. Definitely visit if you’re in the Louisburgh area.

The family who owns this farm are just wonderful! You get to see how the dogs work with the sheep, Michael was just wonderful as well as his dogs! We enjoyed a lovely lunch with our tour group with music and dancing. I can't say enough about how much I enjoyed the opportunity to see this wonderful family owned farm. Was treated as family while we were there, owner came out and said a few lovely words and introduced his son. This is a must see!

A group of 6 of us visited as part of the weekend celebration of 60th birthdays and were so glad we did. From beginning to end, it was a pleasure and Catherine, George and all the team so deserve success - they work very hard to make sure everyone has a memorable experience. There should be more of these kinds of visitor experiences in Ireland. Fabulous scenery, the great outdoors, a unique experience and lovely people and food. Thank you.

One of the must do's on our trip to Ireland was to see a sheep herding demonstration. Yes, Babe, is a family favorite. Glen Keen Farm didn't disappoint. Michael and his dogs, Meg and Dan, have mad skills. Dan kept the sheep still so my husband could take the perfect photo. Our group of 13, loved every minute of the demo. Catherine invited us in for tea and cakes. Delicious. We enjoyed picking up a few souvenirs in a lovely gift shop.

An amazing visit to a sheep farm where we saw the skill of well trained dogs in herding sheep. After this an Irish warm welcome and hearty meal was served along with true Irish music. This was a wonderful and highly recommended visit!

This was a must visit location if you are in the Republic of Ireland! The owners are welcoming, lovely people. The sheep dog demonstration that George gave was simply amazing. George also gave a very interesting and informative example of how peat is cut and used. The visit included a wonderful Irish stew lunch that was very tasty. The gift shop had several unique local items that many in our large group purchased. It was a great highlight of my visit.

We had the pleasure of touring Glen Keen Farm on a recent family trip to Ireland. It was amazing and our group unanimously voted it their favorite stop of the trip!! Catherine and her family and staff were so welcoming - we felt as though they were open just for our visit. The dogs (Molly, Liz and Jill) were beautiful and entertaining - we could have watched them for hours. I truly appreciate Catherine's connection to her heritage on this land and her commitment to keeping it pristine. The tea, scones and fresh whipped cream were literally the best I've ever had. I would highly recommend including a stop at Glen Keen on any trip to Ireland - it was worth 10 stars!!

My visit to Glen Keen Farm was one of the highlights of my trip to Ireland with CIE Tours. The demonstration of the sheep herding dogs was amazing and the scones were to die for: best I've ever had. Expect outstanding hospitality from the owners and staff. Don't miss this delightful stop on any tour to Ireland.
