To look from the rambla or many of the beachside restaurants after dark it was until now a delight to see the island light up after dark. This year there are no lights and there is a rumour that vandals came onto the island late and cut many of the wires. To be on the island at night is forbidden... More

Isla Goritti: An island where you can get away from the buildings and people, but still stat very close to it all. From the far side of the island (from the puerto) it feels as if you could be anywhere in the world. But its only a 5 min boat ride from el puerto. You have 2 - 1.75 hours... More

It´s a few minutes away from Punta del Este´s harbour. A quick boat takes you there, you arrive at a little harboour and you can choose a beach among 3 or 4 options. I like the "playa honda"; it´s on the opposite side of the island from the harbour. The sea is quite and it´s deep. It´s a nice picture... More

The island is at view from Punta del Este. You take a quick boat ride to it... or drive your own cruiser to it...(lucky you) the Island is a natural reserve so you wont find anything but nature!!! So if you go make sure you take everything you need... - food, clothing, entertainment, sun screen, hat, walking shoes.. You can... More

Just take the boat from the harbour in Punta del Este for a short trip to Isla Gorriti, walk through the island and rest at the nice beach and eat somthing at the restaurant. Do'nt leave too late because everybody wants to go back at the same time.

Always on view when one faces westwards it is worth a visit. One tekes a boat trip from the port of Punta del Este and a few minutes later arrive on the island. It is worth taking a picnic and settling in the peace and quiet at one of the tables dotted around. There is only one beach and it... More
