Right next to the basilica in Lujan. A wide variety of exhibits - even with our limited Spanish, we got a lot out of the visit. Take the time to visit - you'll be glad you did!

This is a hidden gem, right next to the basilica in Lujan. There were all sorts of exhibits, from the two horses that made it all the way up to the US with their rider, to gaucho outfits, to funeral carriages used for presidents, to a bracelet made from the hair of Camila O'Gorman (see the movie Camila, about a socialite girl who ran away with a priest). Best visited with someone who speaks Spanish, but fabulous nonetheless…

We visited Luján in January when all Argentinians are enjoying their yearly holiday... and all museums in the town were closed !!! except the Transport Museum which was interesting and definitely worth a visit. Good explanations about the history of transportation means in Argentina, and very interesting samples of trains (La Porteña, the one used in the first railway line in Argentina), the Plus Ultra (first airplane crossing the South Atlantic) and many carriages used by Presidents and even the Pope as well as the wagon used by General San Martín in El Plumerillo... very interesting but still missing the rest of the museums.…
