Shark encounter was good and the sealion swim was amazing. My husband at first was not that interested with the sealion swim, but he was happy he did do it. The whole staff was great and knowledgeable.Good day davidcarter2447! Thank you for spending your time with our sharks AND our sea lions! That certainly makes for an awesome day! The underwater observatory was really cool and my son loved feeding the lorikeets. All the staff we interacted with were very friendly and knowledgeable about the animals at the park. The dolphin interaction was the highlight and my 9 year old loved it!!Good day Erin I! Thank you for spending quality family time with us! We appreciate your visit and your FIVE BUBBLES. - hiromixhosakoSouthlake, Texas1 contributionAmazing experienceWe were a family of 4 - with 2 boys, 10 and 5 yrs old. We did the sea lion encounter and enjoyed it very much. We could tell the sea lion Rosie was well taken care of and respected. She had a very good relationship with the trainer/care taker that we felt very comfortable being close to Rosie. The other parts of this place were also very entertaining. We especially liked the observatory where we could see ocean creatures just the way they are in the ocean.Good day hiromixhosako! - Jennifer C53 contributionsAwesome swim with Sea LionsWe loved this park while we were staying in St Thomas. The park itself is relatively small and only takes an hour or so to see the attractions. However you can add on different events such as swimming with a sea lion, which I highly recommend! We got one on one time with Sea Lion Remo in a large tank. We got to pet him, swim next to him and give him belly rubs. It was amazing and something I highly recommend!Good day jenutpharmd01! There's nothing better than our sea lions!!! - Ashley C1 contributionDolphin Splash and SwimMy husband and I absolutely loved our Splash and swim with Dolphins experience during our honeymoon trip! The staff was so friendly and welcoming from the front entrance to the photographer and staff that worked with the animals. Kaarri was very passionate about the care and well being of the dolphins. She was excited to share the experience and educated us throughout our interaction with the dolphins Nola and Cavello. Wes, the photographer, beautifully captured our experience. We loved every photo and purchased the complete digital collection. We 10/10 recommend visiting Coral World Ocean Park.Congratulations ashleycL8758CX! Thank you for spending your honeymoon with us! - Tourist74451718 contributionsGreat low key sea animal parkOur first visit here was for the sea lion encounter, which was a blast. The sea lions are amazing, and the staff are incredible. An animal encounter ticket also includes a walk through the park, which includes a lorikeet habitat, stingray pool, shark pool, nature trail with lots of iguanas roaming about, a view of the dolphins and of course, the underwater observatory. I advise visitors to experience an animal encounter and see the park as an add on. If you've been to the aquariums in Long Beach, CA or Sea World, or the Georgia Aquarium, I think you'll be disappointed if you visit the park without an animal encounter.Good day Tourist744517! I wish I had read the review written two days ago about the dolphin swim! My two children (and husband bc the kids were too you g to go alone) did the swims me play with the dolphins program. $600 later they were so excited to “swim” with the dolphins. Even for a few seconds. This did NOT happen. In fact, they each only got to touch a dolphin for about 5 seconds in total (I video recorded the entire experience so I know for sure). While the instructors were very knowledgeable if you asked a question and extremely caring for the dolphins, every single move and interaction you have is a pose for a Photographer they have on the dock in the hopes you buy photos after. Be prepared the photos were $120 for ALL of them in our family group or $80 for 3 (not digital) just print. Needless to say, this park has the potential to be Sooooo amazing if it was just a bit more authentic for the guests and not so much about taking your money. $600 plus $120 for for photos is a lot of money for 6 seconds of hanging with dolphins in my opinion. So if that’s worth it to you, then go for it.

Hi Maps590273,
We never like to hear that we have guests who leave Coral World unhappy with their visit! We certainly apologize for your unpleasant experience and would certainly like to make it up to you if you should ever return to St. Thomas.
All of us at Coral World pride ourselves on the customer service we provide to all our guests. Our job is to not only educate and take good care of our visitors but also to provide them a once in a lifetime experience with our animals.
Thank you for your feedback on your visit especially the costs of your pictures. Our gift shop is actually owned by an outside company that set our photo prices based on similar facilities. We'll make sure that your comments are heard.
Please pay us another visit in the future.
Warm regards.

I paid @ $40+ for me and adult daughter to enter. Line was slow and attendant impersonal. She acted like she hated her job and people. Finally got fed up and left the line to purchase my ticket online which included a service fee. Walked around but most of the exhibits were temporarily closed and the ones that were opened had very little to see. Walked through the place in less than 30 minutes. Wanted to see the dolphin show. The 1st time we went to enter the exhibit, the sign said temporarily closed but we overheard someone say later that we had about 10 minutes left to see the show so we rushed over to see the show but got there too late. Then learned that they are opened for 1 hour, then closed for 1 hr. and then opened again for 1 hr. Absolute madness. Finally we went to the dome shaped aquarium which looked like crap. It needs a complete renovation and paint. My daughter was apprehensive to enter. She kept saying we are in a dome under water and I feel as if the glass will break and water will come rushing in. It felt unsafe. We didn’t stay there very long. The best part of the visit was watching other people walk under water with a special helmet. I would have liked to experience that but that would have been an additional cost of over $150+ per person. Final thoughts… Shame on the park/government for advertising and charging a fee to see crap. Shut the place down and renovate. It’s a great concept but needs a full renovation!

Where Coral World is located is not a good area. We bought our tickets from home online before we arrived to Saint Thomas. When checked into our hotel, they informed us we would receive a 20% discount off of our tickets. There was nothing we could do at that point because we had already purchased our tickets ahead of time and Coral World said we couldn’t get our discount. So if you do buy your tickets to Coral World before you arrive, you might want to check with the hotel you’re staying in before you buy the tickets to see if you get a discount. We did a shark encounter, a snuba thing and an underwater walk with helmets on that we could breathe through. all of these cost money to do and you do not need to buy a separate admission ticket because that is included in these activities. My 11 year old son loved the shark encounter and the snuba the most. I only did the shark encounter and the helmet things that i can’t remember the name of now. I liked it but i didn’t love it. it freaked me out a little bit to be in that helmet 20 feet under water. there wasn’t much to see down there either. But for our 11 year old, our time at coral world was fun and he really enjoyed it. If you have more than one day, you can go there on two different days since you don’t have to pay for admission anyway. that’s what we did. also parking is a nightmare because apparently people park in the minuscule coral world parking lot and go to the beach nearby. so there isn’t anyone paying attention to who is parking in the lot and people park there who aren’t supposed to, and then coral world customers have to park down the road and walk past many people hanging out on the side of the road smoking weed. it was a great walk to take our 11 year old on, lemme tell ya. The whole experience of parking far away from coral world because their lot was full and then having to walk up to coral world past locals who looked like they may or may not decide to break into our car as soon as we walked away from it was just annoying. coral world is like a few hours on its own and then the experiences are all longer. when you book your activity make sure you see how long the actual time is though. if it says it is 75 minutes, the fine print tells you it’s 25 minutes in the water. just read the fine print so you’re not surprised when you get there. most activities require an adult with someone under 12 to do except for snuba i think. we brought our own goggles and snorkels but if you don’t have them, you can borrow theirs. also if you have water shoes or crocs, bring them. otherwise you’ll have to wear their crocs.

We did the swimming with dolphins experience and it was amazing. It's the first time I've swam with dolphins and the logistics all went very smoothly, booking was easy, the process when we got there went smoothly. The multiple trainers were very knowledgeable and engaged and friendly. They clearly are passionate about caring for the dolphins. We had several opportunities to interact with the dolphin. We swam with the dolphin named Noelani and she was very fun and gentle and friendly. They took wonderful pictures of us and I am very happy with the experience. The only thing I wish I had known ahead of time was that the you cannot take your own camera and the photos cost 99$ for the two of us. I wish it had just been included in the price, though I paid for it anyway. It just would have felt better to know ahead. I would recommend this to others who are interested in swimming with the dolphins!

We did the Dolphin Splash and Swim! Our crew of 5 (2 adults and 3 kids) spent an awesome morning at Coral World Ocean park. As other reviews mention, the park is quite small and is easily doable in 60-90 minutes. We got there soon after it opened and the park was almost empty. This allowed us to get all of the indoor stuff done before the crowds arrived. Be wary of going when cruise ships are in, because when we left the park was packed with cruise tourists. The Dolphin swim was so, so, so much fun! Our trainers, Erin and Jasmine, were so knowledgeable and friendly! We swam with Loki, a super friendly dolphin who performed his tricks with enthusiasm. Our photographer (unsure of name) was great at his job and the photos turned out great! You do have to pay for the photos, for our group of five, it cost $180 for 86 photos. You cannot take off bad photos to bring down the price. There is an option to buy just 3 photos ($80). There is no video. Just a suggestion: since the swim takes place in a very public area, you could have one member of your group who’s not big on swimming stay back and video everybody else (we had random strangers taping us). The whole experience is very photo oriented, but still super fun! Highly recommend Coral World Ocean Park.

We came on a weekday and did the Snuba experience in the afternoon. I’m glad we did it, but I definitely think the park should provide more information beforehand about logistics and what to expect. It’s just little things. For example, I heard two other parties besides us ask if we needed to rent lockers during our snuba or dolphin experience or if our belongings would be taken care of. They were — the snuba guide locked them in a bin during the experience. That’s great, but why not tell people that up front when we buy our tickets, so we don’t spend the money on a locker? Also, why not make sure at check in, before the experience begins, that everyone is able to complete the waiver forms in advance? We had not received the waiver forms in advance and our guide seemed frustrated/impatient that the paperwork wasn’t ready to go. I don’t blame him — it was a waste of his time to have to shepherd us through paperwork that should have been handled online or at the ticket booth.
There is a snack booth by the shark feeding area with prices posted, including sodas for $2 each. That’s a good price for the island, so we ordered one, and the woman charged us $3.75 for it. When I asked about this she said that only *some* sodas were $2, and the others were $3.75. This really rubbed me the wrong way. Maybe the price has gone up. Maybe canned sodas are one price and bottled sodas are another? Unclear. But in any case, why not change the sign accordingly? It feels ad hoc (or that they’re price gouging, which I really hope is not the case).
Having said that, the park was interesting and worth a visit. The highlights for us were the enthusiastic dolphin guides, who seemed so excited to teach people about dolphins. The underwater feeding session was also great. You can see the park in about an hour and a half or two hours, including some of the feeding sessions.
FYI, there’s a really nice beach right next door, Coki Beach.

My family visited Coral World while cruising the Caribbean. We had planned the Sea Lion swim encounter as part of our visit. I work with animals as a living, so I am always looking for zoological facilities to visit when traveling. While small, this facility has a lot to offer. The views from the exhibits are all beautiful, wild iguanas are free to roam, and the animals all seemed very loved and well cared for. We were able to talk to multiple members of the animal care staff throughout the day as they are very interactive with guests during animal chats. The sea lion staff were amazing and the swim program was fantastic! I highly recommend this encounter if you ever visit as it is one of the most immersive animal interactions I have ever participated in (and I have done alot over the years). Without the tours, this facility won't take long to go through if you just stop by the exhibits. But if you take your time and appreciate all that this small aquarium has to offer, you will have a wonderful experience!

This was our first vacation. Single mom with 2 kids, ages 5&7 and I was a little nervous about taking on an activity like Coral World, especially considering my personal hesitation around keeping sonic animals (dolphins/whales) in captivity and knowing they have dolphins.
From the moment we arrived, the entire experience was absolutely wonderful. We learned so much, got to feed stingrays and sit right up next to a sea lion, chatted about Carat and how he requires such patience, we did see the dolphins in an engaging presentation (and every time I ask my kids their favorite memory from our vacation, it’s consistently been seeing a dolphin) Watching their faces light up as they saw their favorite animal up close and in real life helped me come to terms with my own ‘dolphins in captivity’ concerns, at least for that day! I do understand their dolphins are from other parks and couldn’t survive in the wild, so that’s helpful, too.
A few people were beyond stellar and made such a positive impact on our day but I didn’t have a chance to really express my gratitude to them directly. Austin at the touch tank was absolutely wonderful, he helped my kiddos hold starfish and urchins, and took it upon himself to make sure I knew where to go and when so we could see all of the presentations. Without him, we would have missed seeing the dolphin & sea lion, feeding the stingrays and observing the cleaning of the sea turtles shells...THANK YOU AUSTIN!!
Nicole was also amazing, it felt like she could tell that my kids were soaking in all of the new knowledge and experiences and she spoke to them, explaining so much, with a clear passion for educating others, combined with a courtesy and respect that just warmed my heart and made me feel that my children and I were valued and genuinely welcomed.
Also, the lovely and patient women at the concession stand were so kind and helpful, and the young man who presented the reef and stingray feeding had impressive amounts of knowledge and information, it was really neat to listen to him but unfortunately I didn’t catch his name. I so appreciate that coral world turned out to be the highlight of my very first vacation with my kids. I highly recommend it for for both the young and the young at heart!!

We went to Coral World in April while on vacation in St. Thomas and overall, enjoyed the experience but for a few specific reasons. We chose to do the Sea Trek where you can walk under water by the coral and see cool sea animals and fish and later, we chose the Dolphin Splash and Swim where we swam with the dolphins. Both activities were expensive, but fun and worth the price. The young staff running the events were fantastic! They know their stuff and were very helpful and accommodating to our questions and very much wanted us to have a fantastic time! Where the overall experience falls apart a bit is the park itself. Coral World is fairly small with a number of small (sadly small) attractions. There are large tortoises swimming in tiny pools. There is a bird exhibit with 4 birds. An indoor aquarium with 8 tanks, 5 of which were empty. Admittedly, the park was recently rebuilt after a big Hurricane hit the islands, but for the cost of admission, we expected more. If you have the money to interact with the animals, I highly recommend. If you're planning to pay your $35 and just see the park, it's a maybe.

Hi Tugman 26,
Thank you so much for visiting and for leaving your honest feedback. We greatly appreciate your review.
Sounds like a fun day was had by all with Sea Trek and swimming with our dolphins! Makes for a great day for sure! I'm wondering though if you checked out our schedule of presentations that are included with your admission? We have a few changes to the schedule because of Covid-19 but there are lots of additional talks to check out. We have a turtle feeding, nectar feeding with the Lorikeets, a talk with our Macaws, shark and stingray feedings and a feeding inside the Caribbean Reef Encounter with a scuba diver! SO much to see! Guess you'll just have to come back and visit!
Thanks again for your review. Please give us a like on Facebook and follow us on Instagram as well.
Warm regards.

Ocean Parks like Sea World offer awesome dolphin shows. They introduce thousands to the incredible capabilities and personalities of dolphins and sea lions from bleachers. You might even get splashed. Coral World is a different. It's smaller. It offers close up, personal encounters with dolphins and sea lions, where you actually get in the water and touch and communicate with these amazing creatures. You WILL get wet, because you will be in the same pool with the dolphin or sea lion.
We did both sea lion swim and dolphin swim. There is more contact with the sea lion, there is more communication with the dolphin. (By the way, just so you know what to expect, you will not ride on either animal. In our visit, there was no kissing or handshake with the dolphin, like some photos suggest, but we were able to issue 'commands' and plop a fish into its mouth). Which is better? I liked the sea lion better, my wife liked the dolphin better. It just depends on what you like.
Since the trainer is dealing with a half dozen or so guests, instead of hundreds or thousands, you might expect the cost of the show will be a little higher. You'd be right. It's not cheap. The animals are carefully chosen and extensively trained. The trainers are also extensively trained, both in caring for the animals and caring for the guests. All that training is expensive. But how do you put a value on a once in a lifetime experience? Was it worth it? We say YES. We consider it a good value and the highlight of our island vacation. Our experience in the water hand-in-flipper with the sea lion was thrilling, seeing a dolphin jump out of the water at our 'command' are experiences we will never forget.
We did both sea lion swim and dolphin swim. There is more contact with the sea lion, there is more communication with the dolphin. We're booked for Sea Trek. I emailed and called but there was no answer, so I thought I would try here. Are there locks on the lockers where we leave our stuff? I know we can't take photos, but was wondering how much the park charges and whether they take credit cards. Do I have to buy all the photos they take of us? Thank you for any help.

We had lockers for the dolphin swim and they gave us locks for the locker. Also, we didn’t want to wait while the pics downloaded so we walked to the beach next door. Half hour later, I walked over to the photo room and purchased the pics. They first wanted over $250 for us (8 people)...I told her that was too much. She said ok you can pay the 2 people price. We got all pics for $89.95.

How long do i need to go through the general admission areas of the park?
Written 9 January 2020
Hi Dyrda3K!
Time in the park varies from person to person. If you have an activity booked, that will take you about an hour but you'll need at least another hour if not two to take in the sites and the feedings. If you need anything at all, please feel free to contact me with a message on Facebook. We look forward to seeing you at the park!

When booking through your cruise ship, does that only apply for the specific excursion you want to do?
For example, if the cruise ship offers the sub tour and you want to do Sea Trek, do you need to book directly through Coral World and grab a taxi for transport rather than booking through cruise ship?

Hi Run2theopera,
We always recommend that visitors should book through their cruise ship. However, if a ship does not offer an activity that you would like to do, you can certainly book directly through us. Just remember, if you book directly, you will be responsible for your transportation and for returning to the ship on time and that is an additional charge. There are plenty of taxis at the cruise ship dock. Thanks so much. Look forward to seeing you.

Is the sea lion swim similar to the sea lion encounter (minus the swimming)?
Does it make sense to do both?
If you book a sea lion swim online, and want to book other excursions such, as the sea lion encounter or dolphin swim, will you be charged admission for each excursion?

You need only book one adventure for free admission. I wouldn’t recommend doing both the Sea Lion Swim and the Sea Lion Encounter. The encounter is built into the swim. Plus, they have a Sea Lion presentation as part of their daily schedule of presentations.

Do we need to make reservations for general admission or can we purchase a ticket when we arrive?
Is there any problem getting a taxi back to our cruise ship?
Written 4 March 2019
You can walk right up & get tickets for the day! & there were lots of cruise ship guests there on the day we went, they all came by taxi, taxi’s are everywhere on the island, you should have no problems, A definite stop here is a must!

My advice is to grab a taxi cab and tell them you want to go to Coral world. Should be about $15 per person. Coki Beach is right there too, great for snorkeling. Buy some dog biscuits from the locals for $1 and feed the fish. It’s really fun

We are currently offering 50% off admission which is greater that any other discount we normally offer
We are still recovering from last summer's devastating hurricane season and anticipate running this promotion until the end of the year.
we look forward to your visit

I know Cora world is getting dolphins despite the fact that this practice is cruel and becoming outdated as well as the fact that we just had two cat 5 hurricanes which destroyed the BVI dolphin pen and the dolphins evacuated by plane, so where are these 6 dolphins coming from? That’s what the community wants to know.
