Incredible and an unexpected Museum. It is some kind of secret kept in order to surprise you upon arrival. Allow you to be taken but this light magician, in a place wher you never expect to have this kind of experience.

We had no idea what to expect. The tour of the museum was included in the wine tasting we had booked at Colome. The exploration of light and darkness was fascinating. I, too, wished there had been more explanation of the installations, but just walking through them was so cool.

Dear stork90, Thanks for visiting us and taking the time to comment, we are happy to know you enjoyed our experience. The art of James Turrell invites you to use your subjective perception and enjoy it with your own point of view. An exhaustive explanation would predispose you, and you might have proccessed the instalations in a different way. Many of our guests do the Museum tour more than once. We look forward to seeing you again soon Saludos!

We’ve seen Turrell’s works in Naoshima and SF, so we thought we came to Salta prepared. However, nothing can prepare you to the beauty of Turrell’s world of light where night doesn’t fall but rises. One also has to admire the vision and persuasion of Donald Hess who managed to lure Turrell half of the world to Colome.

Dear Dimitri, Thanks for taking the time to comment about our Museum. Just as you said, Donald Hess admiration for James Turrell´s art, and his love for this vineyards, near to the sky, created the vision of this unique Museum, where the silence and lack of artificial lights prepare us to fully embrace James Turrell´s art. We are happy to know you enjoyed our experience and look forward to seeing you again. Saludos!

This is a special thing to experience but not for everybody.
The explanations on color and light are weak and one wishes one could experiment more freely and stay in the displays longer. Nevertheless, I really enjoyed the experience and the guide, young man from Molinos, was professional and friendly at the same time.

Hard to get to but absolutely worth a visit. You must stay at the Estancia / Bodega Colome - not to be missed. In fact I don't know how you could see the famed skyspace at dusk and make it to anywhere else without staying here

It is true that the location is far from everywhere but it is absolutely a must in Contemporary art. James Turrell has many artworks worldwide but this is one where there are a major number of his ligh instalations. The place is really exceptional and the experience near mysticism: absolutely advisable. The surroundings are fantastic and the winery/restaurant are excellent.
It is better to call before the visit to arrange it because you need be accompanied. The pernsonnel is kind and professional.
