Description:

Step into what remains of a secret wartime air base, now our Visitor...

Step into what remains of a secret wartime air base, now our Visitor Centre, where thousands of people lived and worked in the 1940s. Walk through a masterpiece in landscape design, which is 'Capability' Brown's very first, which has been painstakingly restored for over 18 years from what was once a lost and overgrown 18th century parkland. Explore the park and lakeside to find out what conservation project we're working on this year.

Find Croome Court, the home of the Earls of Coventry, at the heart of the park which has been patiently waiting for its revival. Its time has come this year as the faded house is repaired and reserviced to be able to open up all four floors in 2016. This year explore two floors of un-restored spaces, see what the builders are working on and climb the scaffold for a cup of tea on Sky Cafe.

One of the nicest national trust places I have visited, it is a wonderful day trip, and is very enjoyable. Excellent for dog owners alongside just walkers, there are separate, easily accessible fields where dogs can be let off the lead. This court is suitable for everybody - from young children, for whom a park and woodland adventure section is... More

Croome has much to offer. There are many events at Croome including art exhibitions, and many other events of interest, for adults as well as children. The staff are really pleasant, the food is always fresh although often a queue so be prepared for that. The house is very interesting, and the views and variety of walks are quite beautiful.... We visited Croome Court today and had a fab time. I would recommend this place of interest to dog owners as there is lots of open space for them to walk and drinking bowls are set out. There is a lot to see and lots of interesting facts to learn, ideal for the historian. There could have been more eating/drinking... More

The highlight of our visit was a tour of the house run by ex-pupils (all in their 60s) from the Catholic school that once occupied the building. There is nothing to see in the house as it is undergoing extensive restoration. The school, St. Joseph's was run by nuns along strict Catholic lines and some of the stories we heard... More

We have been to Croome before, we enjoyed it then and again this time. The house is fairly basic but the walks are lovely, even though it was busy the grounds are so big there are times when you are all on your own, good tea room loads of room inside and out worth a visit g

Stunning late winter weather. Long walk around the estate, taking two hours. Spectacular house on the outside, very plain on the inside but hardly surprising for a building that changed hands throughout the 20th Century. Well worth a visit, but the RAF Defford Museum on entry is equally as interesting.

This national trust property is hidden away down winding roads. The house is empty Andy undergoing extensive restoration the park is immense having been laid out by Capabilty Brown. The gardens naafi style restaurant and adjacent radar museum are all worth a visit.

I must say the Cheese Potato & Onion Pie looked so scrummy and it was by far the most delicious food i ever tasted! I wish i could cook that good!! The kids... More

My visit was with a coach party as a stop-off en route to our destination. The day was cold and windy thanks to Ewen!! However, it stayed dry for us to take the long walk to the house. We were welcomed by an enthusiastic lady and a roaring log fire. We were unprepared for the bareness of the property because... More

As NT members we thought we would give it a view. Plenty of helpers who were friendly, food was tasty but the room by main entrance left a lot to the imagination and no serviettes. Grounds not worth it, we went on a cold day and it's quite a walk to the house, when you get there it has basically... More
