A geological treasure trove, white water rafting, Africa's wildlife, Bushveld, trillions of stars, amazing sunsets, and wonderful people. Only 90 minutes from Johannesburg but a whole different world. There are a wide variety of accommodation venues available including camping and caravan sites. Use of a registered guide is well advised for an informative tour. Heritage Site tours range from 90 minutes to full day.

Thank you for sharing your experience. Christo Meyer is a registered guide and certainly has a wealth of knowledge regarding the geology and history of the Vredefort Dome World Heritage site. His tours are very popular.

We went to Thwane Bush camp and environs to look for birds. We had a lovely day and saw many different species. The dome is magnificent. Many different buck on farms nearby...eland, blesbok, zebra etc. Parys and Vredefort is very different.

Thank you for sharing your experience. The unique geology of the area and the resultant flora has attracted around 450 species of birds to the Vredefort Dome World Heritage area and it's a popular site for birding and other nature related activities.

Rolling, green hill thanks to buckets and buckets of rain. Fields of yellow sunflowers and some blackened, ready for harvest. Back country dirt roads lead through to very heart of the Vredafort Dome. Standing all alone in the middle of a field is a windmill....More
