A lovely walk around the gardens, but when we went it was very hot so make sure you take plenty of water if you are spending a long time there. Very quiet especially after the noise of Kandy traffic. Monkeys in and around the place...More

Extraordinary collection of beautiful plants and flowers, but - as I've shared elsewhere - the policy of grossly overcharging visitors from some countries unconscionably high entry fees (rampant throughout Sri Lanka) left a horribly bitter taste. To see wealthy Sri Lankans enter for a reasonable...More

All the guide books list this as a must-see in Kandy. While it is pleasant enough, there is nothing out of the ordinary. Perhaps it is the time of the year, but there was very little flowering plants. We went to the spice garden and...More

So a Botanical Garden wouldn't do much for me but wife does so we went. So glad I did. Cool, tranquil, well kept and interesting. Worth a good 2 hours. Loads of rest stations.

You could spend a day here if you like plants and flowers. Otherwise a half day is nice to get a good look around. The Golf cart is good to hire for an hour as you get to see the whole area.

Yes. There is a charge and for us the time limit was one hour. We had the large cart...I think 7-8 people could fit in nicely. Heard there are smaller carts too.
