We have spent 2h30 in the gardens, which are very peaceful and allow to get away from the hustle of the city. There are many trees and flowers to discover, as well as several kind of animals, like fruit bats that we can clearly observe in a part of the gardens. The gardens are very well maintained, and walking through... More

The royal botanical gardens in Kandy were beautiful, and a nice place to shade yourself from the heat. The gardens are massive, and would take you a long time to see it all. We stayed for around 1.5 hours and had a nice walk. It cost us £15 for 2 people. Beware of people asking you for money, especially in... More

It is a huge land, around 147 acres with well maintained gardens. The best part was that they had golf carts for the seniors to take a tour of the botanical garden. They have a seven seater and a three seater golf carts. The cost of three-seater is Rs.1000 and for seven-seater it is Rs.2000. A one-hour ride would take... More

We spent about 2.5 hours there, just wandering around. Many differnent trees and flowers. Dont miss the orchid house. There are also monkeys and huge fruit bats hanging from the tree. Worth visiting to spentd 2 hours in quiet and on the busy streets of Kandy.

We entered via the suspension bridge (opposite side to the main entrance) and it was such a great way to enter walking across this bouncy bridge. View of the huge river you cross is pretty cool. We spent about an hour walking around. You could easily spend 3 or 4 hours but we were limited by only having a couple... More

This is clearing a popular wedding destination, when we arrived early in the morning, lots of wedding pictures were being taken in the beautiful surroundings of the gardens. There are such a wide variety of plants to look at, and with the help of a guide from the Botanical gardens, we were able to learn all about the uses of... More

Its certainly large, with lots of flora plus birds n monkeys. It has some special displays eg orchid house. But if your used to strolling your city Park eg Botanical Gardens in Sydney or Central Park in NY etc...you are already spoiled for choice and you didn't have to pay for it.

Lovely visit to the botanical gardens. It's large and has plenty of variety. It is maintained to a very high standard. It was very hot when we went so make sure you have adequate clothing/sunscreen etc. Just to note if you are a student there is student discount so bring your card along. It is also a lovely spot for... More
