We went to the caste to eat on Tuesday (16/08) afternoon. The kitchen is open from 11h30-20h00. So we could eat at 15h00. Nice meal in a nice surroundings.

The view from "Alte Burg" is great, but the ols castle as such is not very exciting. But, the historic town of Gmünd right underneath the castle is wonderful! Take a walk through the small streets of this neat town - you will love it....More

You can't miss Alte Burg as you drive through the charming place Gmund. There is a restaurant there. Climbed up the tower which gave great views. Spooky atmospheric Castle. Love the ambience.

After our visit to the restaurant there we explored the rest of the "Alte Burg" but were not impressed. It was claimed that the "Alte Burg was used frequently for theater events, but our impression was one of gloom, dust, overdue maintenance and dilapidated furniture...More

Very nice old berg with great views of the city.very nice restaurant with a veranda. It gives a good impresion of old times.
