Overview
More
Take a boat tour through the Panama Canal into secret waterways to find hidden islands where Capuchin and Howler monkeys can be seen leaping in the trees above. Occasionally, they become curious of visitors and venture down to take a closer look. This Panama Canal tour provides a unique opportunity for viewing wild monkeys in their natural habitat. Other animals you might spot on this tour includes Two and Three-toed Sloths, Crocodiles, and turtles that are native to Gatun Lake. The boat ride to and from the island passes through the Panama Canal, giving you the chance to spot huge container ships during their passage across the world.

Booked this tour from the rainforest resort and had a wonderful time. From start to finish it probably lasted about 3 hours. To get on the boat was a short shuttle ride or walk from the lodge and almost immediately you were in the canal/on...More

Our guide One (Juan) or what ever he was calling himself that day was very knowledgable. and seemed very concerned about the environment. The trip to the resort to get on the boats from the cruise ship terminal was a crazy adventure. It was Sunday...More

A great experience! If you're afraid of monkeys sit in the middle seat, not on the side! We were glad we went.

It was fun to get on a boat on Chagras River to watch for monkeys in the so-called Monkey Island in the rainforest. Lucky to see spider monkeys and tamarind monkeys. Our tour guide threw some fruits (banana and grapes) on the front of the...More

This was sort of a let down. We booked it thru the hotel for about $38 per person. About 15 minutes up and 15 minutes back. Enjoyed more of the info on the Canal than the wildlife. We found out later that some other tours...More

The guide and captain knew how to call the monkeys. When they made noises, monkeys came and took bananas. You will have 10 minutes or less to watch them. Very cute.

The boat tour stopped in 2 areas where we were able to see 2 kinds of monkeys, baby Caimans and a Jesus Christ lizard. Very cool if you are an animal lover! Remember to take bananas with you!

No you don't get off the boat. The animals are in their natural habitat and this cannot be disturbed. You will get close enough to get some great photos and see them up close.
