We’ve been coming here many years now and the beach has even gotten quieter. Very warm sea water as the sand bottom has a very shallow grade (good for children too). At the village and the beach there are a few small-scale cafe’s and restaurants....More
The beach is fine and clean, but has two minuses: 1) a lot of small branches lying around the sand 2) thick grass growing in the sand bottom in the water
The water is extremely shallow and warm - and where there is no wind...More
The sea here is very warm, sheltered and shallow making it ideal for children. Beach/sea shoes are recommended because there are many sea urchins with nasty spines that stick in your feet. The sea is too murky for decent snorkelling and too shallow for diving....More

My wife was bugging me for a long time to come to this island because she visited the island when she was a teenager, I kept declining, until 7 years. My first reaction was, what a beautiful island. I am not talking about Skala Kalloni...More
We spent many happy hours at this beach (at the same time as the rather negative review from Milan funnily enough). We had a few days where the wind blew so the sea was slightly choppy causing the sea grass to be washed up. On...More
Unfortunately lots of seaweeds and very blurred water. A real pity because the bay is fascinating, free sunbeds offered by the Paradise bar if you buy something and very little people ( almost desert!) Not impressing for the sea, beach and landscape overall. There are...More
We had heard the same things about the beach but found it to be quite clean. No cigarette butts or animal poo. That was October 2015. Lovely resort as long as you don't want anything more than quiet friendly and unspoilt... More

The beach is not really dirty, the sand is a greyish colour so not so attractive, but the water is really clear. The Hotel Malemi has an area on the beach at the end of the road from the hotel with sun beds. There was very little rubbish on the beach. We are not really beach people so did not spend any time on that beach or any others, other than walking down the beach to the town. The hotel is really lovely and George and Effie are very welcoming. The facilities at the hotel are good with a nice pool and patio area. Sorry I could not be much help on the beach question. Have a great holiday.
