- rfamily9Acworth, Georgia1,619 contributionsThe view is incredible, the wine is fantastic!Part of our 5 hour tour by Santorinitours.org was a wine tasting at Venetsanos Winery. Probably the most interesting part of our visit was why grape vines don’t grow off the ground like they do in the states. This is due to wind and the lack of rain. Vines are created in circles and they get their water each morning off the due in the air. The wine tasting and view was absolutely incredible. Our server was quite knowledgeable an our Charcuterie Plate was enough for lunch! It made for a perfect ending ( with our ship in the distance) our a fantastic day in Santorini!Visited August 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 12 September 2023
- Madison M17 contributionsA must add excursion for history and wine loversThis winery takes the cake for breathtaking views. Each section you can sit at during or after the tour have amazing views of Fia, Oia, and the other surrounding islands. If you’re lucky, you can also catch a 1 in a million sunset. The staff were all so knowledgeable about the winery and explained everything to us so well. The winery has been wonderfully preserved and truly makes you feel like you’re stepping back into history. The tasting was so fun, it was hard to pick favorites! Great meat and cheese and dried fruits to complement the different wines. An absolutely stunning location and a stunning array of delicious Santorini wines!Visited September 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 28 September 2023
- AlfredCoUniversity Park, Texas80 contributionsAmazing venueWe got married here in Sept. the entire experience was amazing. Viola made planning our wedding easy and stress free! She always responded in a timely manner and answered all our questions. We could not have asked for more. We highly recommend them for an amazing wedding or to just stop by for some of their wine. The wine is spectacular!Visited September 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 2 October 2023
- Dorothy P17 contributionsA beautiful winery!Such a beautiful setting with delicious wines. We did the wine tasting and food pairings were included. I really enjoyed that they only brought out two wines at a time so they stayed fresh, and told you what to eat with each wine. We also took the tour and learned so much about wine making and Santorini as a whole. Very informative and enjoyable!Visited June 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 17 October 2023
- journeymaid48Fairport, New York1,122 contributionsExcellent wines served over an incredible view.Touring this winery is a great experience. We learned about the problems of growing grapes on the island of Santorini due to high winds and moisture only from condensation. The volcanic soil provides an excellent venue for grape flavor. The wines are lovely and the NyKteri wine at Venetsanos is exceptional. All whites on Santorini produced with the Assyrtiko grapes are excellent. The wine tasting was served with food which complimented each vintage. The view was of the caldera and is incredibly beautiful. This is an activity I would highly recommend.Visited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 12 November 2023
- Adam SMiami, Florida266 contributionsAmazing winery! When you drive up to Venetsanos Winery all you can say is wow when you see those amazing views from the cliffs! The winery is in a stunning location and you start your tour learning about the vines of the area, and the vintage winemaking techniques the winery used. You then go to the tasting area overlooking the caldera and then explore a flight of wines based on what you booked. It also includes some food accompaniments as well. All staff members from the greeter, to the tour guide, and the agent leading the tasting were all absolutely amazing and professional. Wines were also really good as well! We really enjoyed our tour and tasting experience here!Visited May 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 7 June 2024
- Jo TWarlingham, United Kingdom481 contributionsGreat view and lovely winesIf you are going to visit 2 wineries in Santorini I really recommend this as one of your two. We did the 6 wines tasting excluding sweet wines. All good and we chose cheese and cold meat platter and a salad. There was one coach load there but they segregate them so it didn’t impinge on our enjoyment. The young lady who introduced each wine was very friendly. She seemed to be quoting a prepared text but actually has a degree in agriculture and has done some further courses about wine. It was quite windy when we went but recommend you take a hat so you can sit in the sun. We were lucky to have the only table in the shade.Visited June 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 19 June 2024
- Lee H12 contributionsMust visitWent to venetsanos winery for a wine tasting and light lunch experience. Pre booked and greeted upon arrival. Had a look around at first then seated to enjoy 4 x different wines and a great lunch to go with. After lunch went outside to admire one of the best views on the islandVisited August 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 8 August 2024
- Megan F44 contributionsBeautiful wines and views not to mention the tomato fritters!Spectacular site with great wines! The wine tasting experience was lovely, sitting outside on their terrace with incredible sea views. We sampled four wonderful wines: white, rose, red and vino santo. We loved the lighter white and rose, and the vino santo is so unique. If you like dessert wines, you must try this one! They prepared a fantastic meal for us which paired perfectly with the wines. The tomato fritters were one of my favorite foods that I ate during my entire time in Greece! It was a delightful surprise, was not expecting such great food! If you are looking for a fun wine tasting experience while taking in gorgeous views this is a must see!Visited August 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 17 August 2024

Booked Sunset offer for 25Euro offer and was a bit of a joke - seated without any view and not the real winery place downstairs with great views.
Apparantly the great location is reserved for wine tasting etc. but there was no real information on that when booked online.
We were very disappointed when we were seated right behind next to the bar, a cafe that was on the same upper entrance floor as the parking - there was no view or sunsent within our views except a group that was sitting infront and on our side. We asked to sit atleast near the corner with some view bit we were told booking was required - we did book online but some sort of sepatate booking seem to have been required to get a decent table, which was not written anywhere!

Nice views but you can get that just about anywhere in santorini. The service was average at best, food was entirely forgettable and the wine selection was decent but again you can get the same quality if not better elsewhere on the island. The winery is essentially catered
mass tourism and in my view you are better off at nearby homely wineries if your priority is wine.

We visited for the sunset reservation, which included a glass of wine and an average charcuterie plate. I think some sort of Greek meze would have been more fitting seeing as we were in Greece. As like the other reviewer you are seated overlooking vines, which really spoiled the view, unless you stood up. For €60 for both of us we felt it was quite expensive for what you got. We also visited the wine shop to purchase wine for a present but felt the man in there was disinterested!

We stopped in on a whim while driving around Santorini on a sightseeing excursion. Despite having no reservation we were warmly welcomed and luckily were seated at a fantastic table right in front. The tasting patio is built right on the edge of the cliff overlooking the Calderon and the views are stunning! We ordered the 4 wine tasting with cheese and charcuterie pairing. Our server was very knowledgeable and provided us with a great education on the wines and proper parings. Great experience, highly recommend! The place filled up while we were tasting so I recommend reserving ahead to make sure you get a great spot.

We visited here as part of a 3 winery tour. This was our favourite view; it's spectacular and you can take some lovely photos.
There were 3 tastes included, along with some cheese, olives, dip etc. The wines were nice and some of our tour group bought wine to take home.
The staff were friendly and informative about each wine.

An amazing experience. The service was good. The server’s English wasn’t very strong, so we didn’t learn a lot about the wines, but that didn’t take away from the experience. The wines were good. The light lunch was huge! It was extremely windy and cold the day we went, but they gave us blankets and accommodated us when we asked to go inside. This place would be amazing on a warm sunny day.

We did not really feel welcome, they rushed through the wines (even for a tasting very small sips) without providing any real information almost like an robot on speed. Questions were not comprehended due to language. Our ask for having some olives (like the table next to us) had been ignored 3 times. Also nobody asked if interested in a glass of wine after the “tasting”.
The extraordinary beautiful setting overlooking the caldera makes up for some of the disappointment.
There are certainly better wineries that are more welcoming.

This winery has a nice view, like many places in Santorini. If you go, be mindful of the weather. The seating with caldera views is open, and on a windy day it will not be an enjoyable experience.
Wine tasting was overpriced, by any standard (starting from 25 euro). And the wine itself, both red, and white, was subpar.

We were staying over the quieter side of the island - Perivolos with the black sand beach.
However, we booked a wine tasting with light lunch on a Sunday afternoon at Venetsanos Winery and what a wonderful experience it was.
The food was good and the sommelier was very friendly and knowledgeable regarding the wine. You can't beat having lunch, with good wine, looking out over the caldera.
Having tasted the 4 different wines - a red, rose, white and a dessert wine, we ordered an extra glass of the white (despite our usual preference for red) to enjoy the view a little longer.
A very enjoyable and relaxing way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

Hi - I booked the sunset terrace for this week on their website (2 wines pp and a platter) for 7pm and I wondered about doing a tour too as they are only 6 euro, is this possible? Do the tours still run at this time and is it possible to just turn up and ask to go on a tour prior to sitting down at our table? Thank you
Written 19 September 2019
I don't think this winery does tours. Tours are done by different companies. That being said, if you booked a sunset terrace at this winery, it should be very good at sunset. Its right on the caldera with a great view. spending an evening there would be completely worth it. bring your camera and get ready to take lots of photo's if the weather is good. it's beautiful on a clear night.

Hello,
Is it possible in August to just show up there without reservation and being seated?
Thanks
Written 11 August 2019
We were there in September and we had made a reservation, it was very busy so I assume August may be even busier. I would suggest making a reservation.

Written 11 September 2018
Besides cheese is there anything else on the menu say for lunch or dinner? Does anyone have a photo pf the menu.
Written 29 August 2018
This is really an unimpressive winery except for the sunset view at night. I do not remember seeing any menu at all but that does not mean there isn’t one. Have you tried googling? I only remember a charcuterie board with our wine tasting. The Guy doing our serving seemed completely unenthusiastic about it and really didn’t give much details. You should TOTALLY gp to Koutsoyannopoulos Winery. Now they know how to run a winery and give tour!
