This place was on a tour in a guide book, so glad we visited even though the caves were the result of a very tragic event. Worth a visit, but not much to see.

Whilst Melidoni Cave is not vast by any means,it more than makes up for in its atmospheric and dark tragic history. Not to mention the breathtaking and outstanding views that surrounds this enigmatic place. Plus of course the warm Cretan welcome of the knowledgeable staff.

It's a cave. It's has stalagmites etc. It doesn't take 20 minutes. To be fair we've been spoilt by the spectacular Skokjan caves in Slovenia so this was always going to fall short but as it was raining we took a chance. Slippery and quick...More

My wife, grand-daughter and myself visited this cave and were disappointed. The cavern is huge and the stalactites and stalactites are massive but the lighting is very poor and with no colour whatsoever. Flash photography is allowed but the cave is so massive that a...More

The cave is easy to get to and easy to get around, we have visited it several times and for years back it was very risky to get into it, but this year they have made safe stairs and lights so it's easy to get...More

Go if you have chance, the story behind it is also very interesting and upsetting at the same time, the caves itself and structure is amazing, worth the visit especially if you go on the train from the hotel, as you visit other places as...More

Went there to show my son his first cave. It is accessible for a toddler, not too big and fast to visit. There are big stalagmites and stalactites. The price us good too.

Lovely location but the cave itself was a bit underwhelming. Perhaps a guide or some details/facts about what we were looking at might have helped. However visiting this cave made us stumble upon Reptisland so a fab day after all !

It definitely deserves a visit. The cave is quite deep but easy in access with stairs. Very nicely lighted. Nice stalagmites & stalaktites and wonderful "curtains" in the ceiling. The people are co-operative, there is free packing and it is not far for the national...More

we had heard great things about this place, but we did not expect it to surpass them ! These caves are beautiful and jaw dropping. Cool retreat from the sun and the history that surrounds these caves are spin chilling. A definite must see.
