Tourist trap. Avoid at all costs. Claims to sell oils for every possible disease. One overpriced oil for every problem. It's an absolute con with overpriced oils. Strategy is to engage you so much that you feel compelled to purchase once you reach the counter. Targetted towards who are more inclined towards herbal cures. As an Indian I felt obligated to review and warn our fellow travelers. Spend your precious time somewhere else!! Don't like giving negative reviews to small businesses but this is one exception to the norm.

My tour trip company arranged and this place is not at all worth it. They tell you only specific things, after learning that you are interested in them. Finally they will tell no compulsion in buying things, but they will convince you so hard to buy stuff which are really 10-20 times its original Price. In Kerala,I got same authentic one which is so very less. Sometimes the volunteers lie to make you purchase a bigger bottle saying smaller one is for kids.. Another volunteer is selling the small bottle to another lady, to make her purchase at-least the smaller one!!!! Don’t be fooled by their discounts and stuff. Visit their website before going there , analyse so that you won’t buy anything.BEWARE!!!!

Long presentation , you feel trapped as they lead through plants , btw covers anyhing one might suffer ( felt like presentation was designed so there will be at least one reason to buy expensive products at end of presentation). The final part is in the shop where you hear the prices, he told us he is giving a special 20% discount reserved only for sri lankans which we almost fell for, but then we over heard same 20% discount offered to others by other salesmen clearly not sri lankans., moment we questioned this and pointed out the credibilty of the presentation is in questionable, we were rapidly escorted out of the shop so other shoppers wont hear us. Waste of time when there are so many genuine attractions SL has to offer

Very nice and interesting walk around the garden. The herbal doctor explained to us the different plants they have and their products. They also gave us a free welcoming tea and a short massage. You can give a small tip if you'd like. We did not buy any of the products, however, we were offered a discount too.

We were taken here as part of a tour. We arrived and were introduced to a guide. They walked us around the garden, spoke about spices as if we were stupid and had no idea what a pineapple or aloe Vera was. Anyway let’s cut to the chase. After being shown around a pathway with twigs we arrived to hard sell. They ring things for you. So as I was bald and fat I had a lot of these spices and herbs ringed on a piece of paper.
You then go to the pharmacy, well just a shop really. Where everything is easily 6 or 7 times the price. Everything here is sold at the shops on the high street. So I give you an example. Aloe Vera pot say 150mls they want 4300 SL Rupees, I got
The same one at the supermarket for 380 SL Rupees. Basically they are conning you. Every person that visits is white and they are told you have money. I will leave that there for you. It’s not right and a scam. Do not go. If it’s part of the trip just say no thank you and go somewhere else.

My dad when he was in SriLanka had frozen shoulder and none of the medications helped him. Fortunately a relative suggested the "Red Oil With Herbal Balm ( Siddartha Oil)" and within a week, he was alright. I have never seen my dad optimistic about a medicine/medicaiton like this before. This happened in 2015-16 and recently he had pain in his right arm shoulder and we ordered the same oil via their website. We wanted it early, So I connected with their email support person and he/she were really supportive and answered all the queries. Even during these COVID times when deliveries are a bit difficult, we received the package in 20 days. Thanks to Asendia and India Post. The packaging was neat and the response/tracking from Asendia mail support team was also excellent. Overall, I am happy because my dad is happy. Thanks to all the associated teams who ensured that I got this package.

Entry Fee : Not aware as part of city tour
This place was in the itinerary of Kandy sightseeing and visit included a trip of the herbal garden with various trees used in traditional medicinal cure. The tour was conducted by a renowned scientist and there was tasting session as well of few medicine.
The finale was a visit to the herbal medicine shop for buying the medicines, oils, concoctions and other items. Costing about SLR 5000/- these was an expensive proposition. A standard 20% discount is available to all visitors.
The choice of buying is on you.
This is a knowledgeable trip if you believe in herbal medicine.

I am reporting you to the tourism board . Your products a phoney and you rip off tourists . you are an embarrassment to your country.. And shows sri Lankans have no honor or integrity . you people are dishonest and greedy. You deserve the government you now have. At least the British. Made an effort .

I’m sorry you had such a bad experience, I think I’m reading this too late as I’ve just come back from Sri Lanka and paid about 200$ there! But be it a scam or not (I’ll still have to find out), I would never paint all of Sri Lankans with the same brush. Your comment is very disrespectful, condescending and racist. Also are you justifying British colonialism? With what right would anyone in their right mind approve of looting and occupation. Please reflect on what you said, I hate this white attitude, you’re making Britain gross and appalling.
Hi Jen
Can you please give an update of the medicines you purchased from there? Were they any good? I bought some as well, now reading the reviews thinking of throwing them down the drain. I don't want to get ill having them. Please advice.
