Pico da Torre is a Viewpoint which is 205 metres above sea level and offers a 360 degree panoramic view over Câmara de Lobos, Cabo Girão and a bit of Funchal.
The Viewpoint itself is nothing special in fact it looks a bit dilapidated and untended.
At the top point of Pico da Torre, sometimes called Pico da Cruz, there is a large cross. This commemorates the 15th anniversary of the National Revolution
The Portuguese Restoration War was the war between Portugal and Spain that began with the Portuguese revolution of 1640, a date inscribed on the base of the cross.

Nice views of Camara de Lobos, but if you are on your own, have your wits about you, as this place has a bad reputation for tourists being mugged and cars broken into. Enjoy it but just keep one eye on everything else.

Came across this small fishing village as we drove along the coast road from Funchal and I would have liked to stop by for a look round. Unfortunately, not only was it a Sunday (so busy with locals out for the day) but there were also road works and traffic queues to reach the harbour area were long. Therefore took the opportunity to stop further along the road and look down to the harbour. Made a note to try visiting again during the week when maybe it won’t be so busy?

Nice views on the nice town of Camar do lobos. Nothing around. Ps. Very bad road to get there. On the top a few parking places.

Most people will visit this village as it's on the way to Capo Girao which are the second highest sea cliffs in Europe or maybe the world.
The village is quite neatly compact around the small bay and harbour with there being several cafes, bars and restaurants on hand so you can slake your thirst and hunger.

This small town has so much to offer. I has lots of cafes restaurants and bars along with it's small town charm, ingenious use of trash to make street art and old washing machine drums, glass bottles and shirt's as light shades. You can walk along the coastal path as far as Funchal or just sit and watch the boats in the bay. My pictures don't do it justice, you need to go and see for yourself.
