Small gem in the middle of Furnas. Very relaxing and peaceful. Best 4 euros you could spend! Consists of 5 thermal pools. 4- hot around 39 degrees and one cooler one. We happened to go on a rainy day but really doesn't make much difference...More

I visited here on Friday around lunchtime and the place was not that full at all. Mainly couples, only a few families with kids. I'd been looking forward to coming but when I arrived I was really happy to see that it looks so much...More

It's really great place. My tip: get there in the morning when almost no one is there, enjoy yourself. When finished ask for return stamp (your ticket last whole day) and go for hike/trip to furnas/whatever and come back at the end of a day.

Went decently early arriving 10am. Almost empty when we entered which is ideal. We enjoyed the range of thermal pools. In particular the waterfall one which has a cascading sheet of water that traps the air behind it creating a sauna effect was marvellous. Really...More

These pools were filled with locals and vacationers, all enjoying the warm relaxing waters. Everyone is very friendly on this lovely island and ready to enjoy themselves. The changing rooms were clean and orderly, the pools spread out and varied, and although plenty of people...More

I spend with my son most of the time in the pool with 28c and we went from time to time to the hot pools with 39c. So we spent nearly 3 hours in the water. Very great place.

The thermal springs was on our list of places to visit. It was raining, but it didn't stop us nor many others from visiting. Up front you pay the entry fee. Then you go into the gift shop and pay for a locker, towels (20...More

Very interesting pools with natural vulcanic hot water. Very well organized with clean showers and changing rooms. Owners should intruduce a limit to the guests at the same time. Some pools were too crowded.

Such a great place to relax and sit and soak. They were as hot as a warn bath and we took our children. Note that being quiet is important. No splashing or horseplay is allowed. We would definitely return. It is reasonably priced at only...More

Hi, we were there in March. Although a little busy, it was still very enjoyable. It's such a nice environment that everyone is pretty relaxed. There were a few children there but they all seemed to be on their best behaviour... More

I found the cooler pool at the end of the path less crowded, it's quite pretty with a natural waterfall at one end and warm water spouts if you find the pool too cool.

Hi Emjay - Just curious, what hotel did you stay in at Furnas? We are on Sao Miguel for three days without a rental car but will have a tour guide to explore the island for the first two days. We are trying to find any region on Sao Miguel that allows exploring on foot from the hotel and it sounds like you were able to explore in Furnas. Any advice that you could provide would be much appreciated.
