This was such a peaceful place with beautiful landscape and ocean views. Parking is right next to the viewpoint so there's no need to walk far.

Quite a stunning view if you’re lucky with the weather. Beautiful panoramic view of the island. Not so busy as many of the other viewpoints, so we could really take it all in. Location is wrong in TripAdvisor map. It’s on São Miguel island.

Quiet viewpoint from where you can see both north and south sides of the island as well as Furnas volcano including down to the lagoa (lake), the town and the perimeter of the crater. Having a really good zoom (35X) on a camera or a set of good binoculars helps as you can then look down into the town and see the steam venting from the caldeiras and the iron colored streams.
I suggest only taking in the view AFTER you have toured the Furnas area as you then have a decent orientation and can see how all the areas fit together.
A selfie and a panoramic shot (if you want to capture both sides of the island) are mandatory.
Wind and a much cooler temperature will be normal so bring a light sweater or windbreaker. A 10-15F temperature difference can be big if you are in shorts and a tee shirt and will definitely impact your enjoyment of the views. Behind you are the giant turbines used for power generation and decent hilly views. Parking is only on one side of the street so park facing the way you are comfortable driving out of with a manual transmission car. We parked downwards and swung a U turn to save the aggravation of having to slip the clutch on a hill start.

The summit of this road across the island easily has some of the best views we saw, including Lagoa das Furnas. You might even see the rare Azorean bullfinch on the way. We had the road practically to ourselves and the glorious viewpoint. It looks miles away from Furnas on the map but isn’t at all and is well worth the detour.

if you want to see northern and southern seas in S Miguel island this is a nice spot weather permitting. it has a different perspective to Furnas surrounded by different type of vegetation. Go on to Salga or come don to Furnas, otherwise use the northern road to land at Lomba da Maia amid cows and rural farms

We went a couple of times, because the first day you couldn't see any of the fog. Luckily, we had time to go back and we loved it ❤️‍🩹

Spectacular views from the north side, small parking area, enough for 8 vehicles?

Worth? Absolutely
