"Big" lake

Veliko means "big" in Croatia, but this lake isn't really all that big (it's maybe the fourth smallest out of twelve in the Upper Lakes). Still, it's nice, and obviously part of the greater lakes system that makes up Plitvice--cool in part b/c of the system as a whole. Most easily accessed by entering at Gate 2.

Veliko lake is in the Upper lakes part of the park- entrance no 2, not the biggest nor the pretties but still worth a visit take a long walk by the lake and take your time, just enjoy. Go to Plitvice you wont regret a minute.

The misty rain made this place very ethereal

On the Upper Lakes section - walking on the eastern coast line ( Stubica) you will wander through this area which gives you filtered glimpses of the Lake.
However the 'drop' off the pathway was what was quite dramatic & photogenic.

A Nice Stroll

In the Upper Lakes area, this is a lovely place for a stroll around the lake. The beauty of Plitvice is actually seeing all the many lakes and waterfalls together. Enjoy.
