Gorgeous falls, like the rest in the park but maybe one of my faves. This area can get congested though, so best to visit early in an attempt to avoid the herds.
Veliki Prstavac is in the Upper Lakes area, so most easily accessed by entering at Gate 2 and taking the short ferry across and walking up from there.

Your first main Lake stop will likely be Burgeti Lake, so then Prstavacki is the first major waterfall & it is beautiful - sending the waters from Galovac Lake downstream.
Everywhere words are lost as this place is a visual feast.
Great photo op but, hey, remember to stop & enjoy the moment.

This area had a lot of water flow when we visited, in late May after a lot of rain. This waterfall was one of the most impressive we saw - not quite as tell as the Veliki Slap near entrance 1, but much wider and with a nice picturesque foreground that made it one of my favorites to take pictures of.

Veliki Prstavac will cost you a few hours walk if you get in the park at gate 1 as it is situated at lake Galovac.
So to reach it faster you'll have to take Entrance 2.
You can take a look at the attached map.
It is worth the effort anyway as it is the second highest waterfall in Plitvice National Park with a single drop of nearly 28 meters.
From Entrance 1, you can also take the boat trip on lake Kozjak and then walk towards the upper lakes. Then you will pass by Veliki Prstavac.
Try to be there by good weather as always if you want to take good pictures.
Our weather was bad, really bad unfortunately.
Hope you'll have better luck.

As the boardwalk trail winds around the lake, you see this approaching, then it disappears from view again until you get close... Then, it is just spectacular... It blew me away... The highlight of the park.

Stunning waterfall, my #2 favourite on the E walk, and I believe the tallest on that route also. Pure magic.

As I said, the upper lakes have its gems, and this is one of them if you like falling water :) So calming and peaceful place. Could just sit and enjoy for some time

There are so many lovely waterfalls in Plitvice Lakes National Park, but this is one of the nicest, so try not to miss it. It's big and it's impressive.

Not the highest waterfalls in the park but one of the most beautiful. This curtain of falls is in the upper lakes region.
