The rocks here are gigantic in size, smooth in texture and would you believe - its alive!. Rarely we can see these type of rocks in a seashore. An after effect of the eruption of Mt Iraya centuries ago. No swimming is allowed here because...More

This is the 2nd boulder beach that I have seen. The 1st one is in Bicol. Dubbed as Valugan Boulder Beach. Distinctively unique in a sense that it is surrounded by boulders from Mt. Iraya after its eruption. My tour guide cautioned me to be...More

Valugan in the Ivatan language means east. Its called Boulder Beach for obvious reasons. We really enjoyed our visit to this beach and its so photogenic. Boulder Beach was created in 400 AD during a Mt. Iraya eruption and scattered around andesite rocks. The wind...More

We went here when the weather was cool. Good thing that it started to rain when we were ready to leave. Anyway, the waves are big, the rocks are big, there's no sand in sight. Just different sizes of rocks that you can step on,...More

This was the last stop to my North Batan Tricycle Tour...and pitures do not do justice to the beauty of this place. The sound of the waves, and the view of Mt. Iraya makes you feel like you're in one of those tropical themed movies...More

It is something new because the entire place is surrounded by rocks and not sands. We stay for only minutes to take pictures coz we have to go to other places too.

strictly for looking only for me.Large boulders to the waters end will deter many from swimming.Still it's a beautiful pristine ocean and view.Just not for body surfing.

the eatery nearby serves the worst food. staff are unsure of their answers. there a lot of flies and make sure you bring your aqua shoes for the beach is not that good walking barefoot.

yes it's a beach. but unlike to famous ones like boracay, this beach has rocks as its shore...no...not just rocks...but boulders! our tourguide told us that those big rocks are from the volcano when it erupted years ago. devastating event gave birth to such beauty.
