It is a cool site to go and see it from across the way on top of the nearest hill. You need to do some steep walking but not much. The red and black volcanic rock beach is closed to the public, however you can...More

We found the Red Beach to be less than impressive up close. We had a vehicle so accessing anything on the island was easy. There are ways to access the beach but it is not recommended by locals because the risk of landslides. You can...More

Nice area, easy access. Area would likely be super crowded during high season. We had a rental 4 wheeler and this place made for a nice quick stop, a few photos and look around. Wear proper shoes if walking around the perimeter.

While visiting last summer Red Beach was a stop as part of an island tour. Took the short walk down some rocks to get to the beach. The beach is rocky as beaches are in Greece but the sand also had what appeared to be...More

Red Beach is easy to get to by bus. I visited in October. The weather was fine, people were swimming. It's a small beach. I imagine during peak season it would be very packed with little room. It's worth going along the beach and climbing...More

It’s only a short walk from the bus stop but very worthwhile- the colours are stunning. It’s a small cove with a nice swimming beach but most people seemed to be there just to see it. So many shades of red in the rocks against...More

The site was a let down , not worth making a trip. Instead one can visit Akrotiri. There was a landslide and the area was barricaded.

This beach is far beyond my expectations, I had no idea that such a lovely beach was to be found in Santorin, colours, sand, water, everything is so beautiful ! The sand is really amazingly stunning. There is a boat that comes very 30 mns...More

Red beach is definitely worth a visit to if in Santorini. Gorgeous red sand and refreshing salty water. Very crowded and hot during the day but can’t miss a visit to see the red sand during a visit to Santorini.

Though this place is called Red Beach, it's because of the red rocks surrounding the beach. The sand is black, similar to the sand in Black Beach. Nice place to visit, especially during sunset.

Much better is by boat . It is posible by buss alsso , but all bus goes to Fira first , so you have a long drive , and long walking to the booth beach from bus station.

If you have mobility issues, you may have a hard time seeing the beach from above also. It was a walk out to it on uneven pathways.

its just 5-10 mins walk down the hill. You can definately do it with sandals or flip flops but you will be more confortable with sneekers.
